He could have slid right before impact, that's what QBs are advised to do all the time, there's a reason for it.
I am talking about the entire season as a whole, Amendola caught 2 of 4 passes for ZERO yards yesterday… :bounce:
How does a guy slide when he has a defender draped on his back??
wow.....:bricks:
Which for Amendola is one full and two part games. I cannot believe you are suggesting Amendola should be cut based upon such a small sample size. I can't wait until your Shane Vereen thread.
If you go racing into an intersection driving your car how exactly be shocked when a tractor trailer takes you out? Am I being insensitive again..:bathbaby:
The likelihood is Amendola will not play for at least 1-2 weeks, which is half way through the season, at the midway point would you have Amendola back for $5 mil a year and risk losing Edelman to a place where he could be a starter?
There is valid reason to blame Amendola for always being injured but too many of you think with emotion and fail to use common sense.
DA sacrifices his body on nearly every play and as a result of that, often gets injured because of it. Yesterday, he could have run out of bounds a yard or two earlier, I mean, he isn't blind, he saw what was coming at him. He chose to try and get the first down and I love that about him, but Welker probably would have just ran out of bounds and lived to see another snap.
DA has done this his entire career, he isn't a wuss, he is as tough as they come, but I do not believe in coincidences, the reason he is always injured is because of the way he plays. He plays for the hear and now and doesn't think long term. Welker makes decisions to protect himself or run out of bounds in that play( and many like it) and Amendola does not.
All the haters will flame me telling me I am wrong, but watch the replay from yesterdays hit. Amendola intentionally lowered his head and tried to lunge at the incoming defender to make more yards. The hit was totally legal. It sucks that he got popped in the dome like that but he did it to himself. In fact, go look at all his injuries...you will see there are many things he could be doing to protect himself but doesn't. Welker did...that is the difference between the two. Its not bad luck, its poor decision making.
He can, if he want to blow out his knees and ankles.
I'm so sick of this crap. It's ridiculous. How many more of you in this thread are gonna blame this guy for getting himself injured? Are you kidding me? I'm flabbergasted. The guy is injury prone, I won't argue with anyone on that. He just has bad luck. But to blame him for going all out just shows you have an agenda. If D.A. starts to run out of bounds, not stretching out for poorly thrown balls, or drops when he sees a hit coming, you and everyone else blaming him for his "play style" would be the first ones to step up and call the guy a *******.
Sucks when the actualities of life just keep coming and you just want them to stop… You guys act like we just employed the slot position for the first time in New England, nobody has used the slot position more over the past decade then the New England Patriots, how many head injuries have are receivers suffered during that time? You think Welker never had a player launching at him to prevent him reaching a first down marker? Do you remember Brown, Edelman, Branch, Woodhead, Faulk, Hernandez and any of the other players who caught passes out of the slot leave the game concussed? We practice protecting ourselves constantly and Amendola ignored what he was taught and that caused the injury, not to use the car analogy again but if you launch into that intersection not wearing your seatbelt you cannot be surprised if you get hurt and the person who wore their seatbelt did not.
Regardless of the circumstances involved that get him hurt the reality is DA's Patriots existence has demonstrated to us all that the guy is snake bitten when it comes to injuries.
Unfortunately, he hasn't proven his detractors wrong on the injury front.
which is kind of ironic because last year this whole board got on Brandon Lloyd for NOT fighting for the extra yard and taking hits..now we get on guys for doing the exact opposite
He had other options..
I didn’t say he should be cut, I said if this continues through the remainder of the season he should go the way of Brandon Lloyd and we should resign Edelman for $2-$3 mil per to be the starter, and develop Moe in the backup role. I don’t understand what has you in such disbelief here bro?

I don’t know but fortunately Amendola did not have that problem because there was no defender draped on his back. The defender behind him did not make contact with him until after the initial hit, for the record though Wes Welker would have realized he meant more to the team than the difference between 3rd and 3 or 1st and 10, now I respect Amendola being a tough and competitive but it was not smart football and in the long haul it will cost us.
