Ingram's Roster Spot

You have ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY GOT TO BE JOKING. He had one bad game, for God's sake. Holy CRAP this is the mother of overreactions, even for a messageboard. Please tell me you're kidding.

I have pointed out for several weeks that Ingrham has been consistently making BAD snaps. You need to watch the games. Were Zoltan not athetic in fielding the snaps BOTH for FGs and punts we would have had several turn overs and we would have lost at least 2 and possibly 3 more games. One missed FG was from a bad snap that Zoltan didn't get in place in time to keep Gost in rhythym. This is a serious issue.

Waiting untill we lose a game over this isn't a good coaching strategy.

Exactly, PWP. Evidently Patsox23 hasn't been watching the other games where Ingram screwed up Ghost's FG's.

Mesko is 6'4" 231 pounds. It's not like pitching to Eddie Gaedel. There are 31 other long snappers in the NFL who would love to snap to a big target like that. Most of them didn't take up a draft pick.

Can we please relieve this guy of employment?

He has ONE (1) thing to do in life - - that's all. When others are learning a playbook, and doing 20-30 drills for different situations, this guy has but one thing to practice. We freaking used a draft pick on him.

Anyone of the other 44 players could have snapped those wild pitches yesterday that our "specialist" made.

Why can't BB teach a real football player to do long snapping and not use up the spot?

You know for sure that he is not injured?

You don't know but you will act like you do it is your M.O.

Yeah, but at least the team saved a few million dollars when they let Paxton go and used those funds to...err, umm, sign Joey Galloway!

Isn't Connelly the backup long snapper?

I think Nickovich can long snap.

I'm not bemoaning the pick for Ingraham just saying that something is seriously wrong there. BB needs to fix it in some way, correct Ing's problem(s), or sign another LS (they don't grow on trees, the reliable ones).

What are you trying to communicate?

You believe he is injured, Roland? And if he is, and if it affects the delicate balance of long snapping, then why would he be in there?

Please illuminate us.

If slightly missing the snap location is serious then what is totally missing the snap altogether? The point I'm getting at is they've still been able to make every punt and every kick. Maybe some snaps accuracy have been off, but the kickers are still the top in the NFL stat-wise. I dont see this as an issue. In fact, I thought this thread was a joke.

Great, I think your post is a joke. God Bless the Internets!

The three punts yesterday that had the bad snaps went an average of 33 yards after Mesko made athletic saves on them. He's averaging over 42 yards per kick this year.

Your contention that it's all ok just because Mesko gets these kicks away is simply erroneous.

Also erroneous is the fact that they've made every kick - - Mr. Gostkowski can tell you that 3 early in the season were not made after bad snaps.

If you think a bad snap is no big deal, then why shouldn't we use a roster player who can contribute in other areas also?

i'd let this thread die shmessy ... really ... you're picking on the long snapper ...

Hopefully the practice squad guys don't get on TV this week. :scared:

Man, how do you guys know so much about other teams LS lol. Something needs to happen with this guy, if he can't do it find somebody else who can. What's Ingram making probably 300,000? Paxton is making a million a year. Maybe the extra 700k would of been worth it.

I'm just getting into shape for my annual "Kick the Salvation Army Bell Ringers in the Shins" season opener.

Slow down for a minute... we haven't even drafted Mark Ingram yet and you're already talking about giving him the boot?!?

*actually reads thread*

Oh... that Ingram...

LS is definitely an issue. I didn't even see the game live yesterday (in the car on the way back from NY), but in either the Baltimore or Miami game (can't remember which) first there was a really high snap, then there was one Mesko had to practically pick off the ground. I remember thinking "Wow, we're lucky Zoltan got both of those and got the punt off." It will be a huge bummer to see one of those finally get by him, which is bound to happen if Ingram keeps being off-target.
