yaya no one is jumping off cliffs!

Next year will be a circus...but that can wait.

We have a good #1 CB now

They said we would never spend that money on a corner!!!!!!!!! Welcome to FOXBOROUGH REVIS ISLAND!!:rocker::rocker::rocker::rocker::rocker:

1. I never thought I would like Revis.

2. Not a bad deal, gives Pats 2ndary a year to develop, and see what we have.

It is actually a great signing because now we can franchise him for the rest of his career and still pay less than the Bucs.

Re: We just got the best in the game for only 2.5 more than Aqib

Love it! Thank God we didn't hang ourselves for 4-5 years. I can live with that contract for one year, and then we re-assess the situation. Never had a doubt.

Now just please get me Steve Smith, so I can stop hitting refresh on the free agency wire like an addicted maniac!

FA just got a lot better, but just one year?

To be honest, I'm actually a bit annoyed.

I just finished reading about how Revis preferred the winless Bucs to thet Jets because he was making more money.

Then he goes on the air and tells the world how BB is a jerk.

Then $12M later, it's all good.

:bricks:

That was the rivalry talking, he knows DEEP DEEP down that Bill is a genius, trust the second BB came calling he was hopping on that plane as fast you can say 'shutdown corner'

what kind of dumb contract is that? I suppose they did what was necessary to land the beast, but the problem gets deferred to next year.

Problem? This is a good problem. It's not an absolute guarantee that he's still worth it. They landed a guy who now has to prove it. This is a $12m risk--which is good for the Patriots, not bad.

Now bring in Woodyard and away we go!

The Patriots just added arguably the best defensive player in the league (two years ago would have said arguably the best player in the league), and he's still in his prime.

It's like a reverse Mike Haynes... and Revis might be better.

This is incredible. They got him, they got him cheap, and they got him with no chance at paying the price in the future. Amazing.

CORRECTION: We have the BEST CB now. Talib is absolutely fantastic but never Revis unfortunately.

Talib who?

I can't believe they paid him that kind of money for one year. This dude better be DAMN GOOD.
Are you just surprised they spent that much or do you think it's too much? I am shocked it only cost $12M. Hope they get an extension done during the season.

12M?ouch...that's a lot but :rocker:

It's these 1 year bull**** contracts that led to us losing people like Talib and possibly Edelman. Pats must like going through contract negotiations every year. Oh well, I guess there's the franchise tag option.

Woooooooooo!

I would have posted this five minutes earlier, but I was too busy dancing around the room.
