Can anyone make a plausible argument of he makes the team?
I can. BILL BELICHICK HAS SAID SO. That's my argument. What's the point of this?

BB also told Bledsoe he would be given equal practice time when he was healthy again so that he could fairly compete for the starting job.
It didn't happen that way though did it? I'm not saying that BB made the wrong decision - to limit Bledsoe's practice time in order to properly prepare Brady. In fact, I agree with the decision entirely.
The point is that things change. Just because BB says something today doesn't mean he won't do the opposite later if it is the best thing for the team at that time.
IF Troy Brown is healthy, then Troy Brown will be on this team. Period.....I have no doubt, none whatsoever.
Chad Jackson, a first round draft pick with lots of potential? The choice is obvious.
Just think, we wouldn't have even played the Colts in the Championship game if it wasn't for Troy Brown..
This is so COMPLETELY NOT the same situation. You're also basing that on Drew's POV of a situation that was far more complex, but we'll set that aside. This situation is totally different. Truly, this is bordering on idiotic.
Agree completely...
Chad Jackson was a 2nd round draft choice who maybe out for the year, while Brown will be ready to play at the beginning of the season... Who would YOU play?
I might get ripped for saying this, but he's either been invisible or choked in two straight playoff runs.
I think a healthy Chad Jackson is more valuable in December than Troy Brown.
I don't see how it is so different. BB said something but then the situation later caused him to go against his previous statement and do what was best for the team.
I can see that happening this time as well (that is assuming that BB was serious to begin with - He can't exactly say Troy is done now can he?). If he did indeed mean it, then what happens if the other WRs outplay Troy to the point that BB know it is not in the best interest of the team to put him on the final roster? What happens if a number of fringe players from any position over achieve on STs or otherwise carve out a role that is more important?
Even if he meant it (something I am not sure of), BB is going to do what is best for the team when push comes to shove. Right now, I don't see Troy making it.
You obviously do see him making it. Great! Some posters agree with you and some do not. If it were indeed bordering on idiotic, I don't think the responses would be 50-50 on the subject.
OK- here isa how it's going to go. Troy will be signed and then PUP'ed. If we should lose a reciever or one is not living up to expectations, he will be activated.
BB already said Troy had a place on this team. I take him at his word.

I find this thread very, very depressing. It's going to be a sad day when we know for sure that Troy has played his last down for the Pats, be it this year or next or whenever.
Anyway, maybe they'll keep him as the 3rd QB.
You know what all those guys have in common? Not one would have stripped the ball from a defender who was on the verge on ending the Patriots season.
I can't believe I am agreeing with you on this, but I feel the same way.
