Bedard Film Review : Pats vs Broncos

Bedard had stated previously that a big advantage NE had over Denver was ST.

Rookie punt returner, inexperienced kicker, windy game, not good for Denver.

Thinks BB gave Elway the finger on Sunday. "Hey, QB, you think you know how to build a fb team?"

BB has made several unnoticed moves (Don Jones, example) to improve special teams.
As I heard Rich Eisen say, no one manages a week to week roster like BB , just like week to week gameplans.

Felger's head is spinning in that Bedard is implying that he thinks the even though the Broncos have more talent, the Pats have a better team.

Asked if they opened up the toolbox too much and have nothing left to be surprised in the AFCCG or in the playoffs. He feels it could be a problem, but he thinks the Pats are talented enough to just line up and play. Says he thinks the Pats didn't do anything too exotic and still probably have a few surprises.

Didn't they confuse mostly by giving the same look and morphing into different defenses with unpredictable rushers? If that is the case, then unless Denver can find a tip on the film, I don't see why it couldn't be reasonably successful in a rematch.

Felt that Bill was giving Elway the middle finger for having the better team top to bottom than the shiny pieces. All about creating a 53 man team. Says this year is a referendum to the two systems.
Iam sure felger is still complaining about the jets and tannebaum system is better :)

It was definitely a bad decision by Brady. He hurried the throw to not get sacked. I've seen people say it was Amendola's fault. Thats crazy he got barely a fingertip on the ball.

I've seen this meme among the media (it was DA's fault). It's just further proof that independent thought and analysis is not the specialty of or the business of sports media. I suspect, also, part of it is Brady playing especially great right now. When he's lights out maybe they think it's blasphemy to point out a mistake he made? Note to media: Brady is great, Brady made a mistake, Brady making a mistake does not mean he isn't great. NO friggin way was that INT DA's fault......and it's obvious.

Well I usually get along with most people here on the board but he argued about how we didnt offer money to brandon lloyd and cut him instead ignoring all the locker room issues that were reported and I kinda got sucked into his arguments and as like he does with most people, ended with with 'Iam done here..... enough clowns to deal with daily.....being an asshat etc etc " :D

In true Megalomaniac form, if you disagree with him, you either know you are wrong but lie because you are a homer, aren't smart enough, or he has already proven you wrong and you aren't worth his time.

The funny part is that until Nate Irving, Denver hasn't begun to face the attrition that will show what their depth is like.

If they lost guys like either Thomas or Sanders I think they'd be in trouble.

Another caller slamming Bedard because he doesn't buy into defenses are better when they are emotional based. Brings up the Seahawks as proof that attitude makes defenses good.

One of the most talented defenses in the last twenty years was only good because of attitude?

Well..manning will figure out .I respect his smarts. He broke down those INT's and 4th down stops in his post game pressers immediately. But does not mean all 11 of them can execute. Its as much confusion for the whole offense as it is for manning.

They did lose Trevathan too, but they lucked out that Marshall has been good enough. Losing Monte Ball might have upgraded the team because he is mediocre.

Bedard said that the Pats dared Manning to pass and won the day because of it. (sorry there was more but I got 'spoused' in the middle of it :p)

I dont think it was about confusion, but about execution.

Says people should take the Cards seriously. Has them going 12-4 and the #1 seed. Says Carson Palmer is playing really well.

Bedard on the Cards:
good team, not the greatest running game, but people aren't taking them seriously b/c of Carson Palmer. They got a break not having to play Romo. Its a good team and they are going to be trouble.

One of the big differences I see between the Broncos and the Patriots is that the Broncos pretty much have one game, and so far this season they've played it about as well as they can. They aren't going to get any better. They have been ridiculously healthy, with Danny Trevathan the only significant potential returnee. I don't think that they can really throw many new wrinkles at the Pats. The Pats, OTOH, could throw a very different game plan at the Broncos on both sides of the ball. I think BB kept Tim Wright in reserve, and he could be a big feature down the road if there is a rematch. 2 TE sets and TEs going down the seam could be very effective. On defense Jones and Siliga should be back, and Branch and Casillas will hopefully have grown into niche roles. The Pats could throw some very different wrinkles at Manning and company.

Of course, that's my point. NE didn't do anything profound, they confused him simply by being so multiple from the same set. Once it happens, Manning knows exactly what is happening, but he loses the advantage of a preparatory pre-snap evaluation.

Does that mean that you were lured into a legal agreement with an unstable party, forfeiting half of your assets and future income if they ever decide to terminate the agreement?

Q: NY Giants tanking right alongside the NY Jets. Is this bad news for the Jets? Will they both go after Jim Harbaugh?

Mazz: Yes!
Bedard: I don't think Harbaugh will go to the Giants b/c he will want complete control. So, no issue.

Q: If I were a Packers fan, how come I don't feel good about Mike McCarthy being resigned?

Bedard: Because you don't like prosperity? He is overrated though. Mistake what they have done with Peppers.
