Evans and Mangold just got over 50 million dollars. If you are a big time player in this league, anything less than 40 million dollars for your first deal after playing out your rookie deal is ludicrous.
Nobody knows what the "principle" is or what "lies" Logan is reacting to. It's all pure speculation. Not that we shouldn't speculate, but imagining a possible scenario then deciding that either side is stupid, scummy, etc. based on our own imaginings is all too easy.
It's just my opinion. Not being an NFL player, coach or scout, I probably don't understand everything that goes into the evaluation of a player, but the way I see it is that an elite guard would not have a bad game when faced with an elite DL. It wasn't about it being one game, it's that he was over-matched in that game by elite talent. Maybe he was hurt?
why do people only discuss the principles of the player?
why do people only discuss the principles of the player?
Again, you think the team is stupid enough to downgrade Mankins over ONE SINGLE GAME that took place 3 years ago?
And how has he performed in all of the playoff games since then? Let's see there was the Wild Card game this January where they were able to get pressure with three guys and...
you blaming him for the ray rice TD run, too? stupidity of the highest level to put the ravens game on mankins. why not also blame the QB who looked like he didn't care that day?
Yeah, that stinking guard, number 73, he was very over rated. Now, what was his name again? Oh yeah, something like Hanna Montana... oh wait, yeah, now I recall..that over rated John Hannah.
Just yankin' your chain a bit. I, for one, believe that a good guard is key to an entire o line's production.
I get it, the OL has nothing to do with the Ravens pass rush.
Who said anything about Ray Rice?
Didn't neal just sign for 2.5M per year or something?
Mankins wants 3x that?
mankins and the OL has nothing to do with the ravens running for over 200 yards that day. or did you miss that part of tha game and were only watching what mankins did
Again..the principle is that MANKINS is a greedy pig..I rest my case...and THAT is fine...If he wishes to BE so be it..but PLEASE don't go and claim some "principle"..when it's obviously NOT there/It's all about $$$$$$$$ and that is ALl what Mankins is about. And if he chooses to take a tantrum about 35 million.. like he has..I have NO SYMPATHY with whatsoever. AND I think most fans will not...and certainly the GP.The OP is saying mankins should not be upset at 35million over 5 yrs. The patriots can put whatever value they want on a position, the player should also be able to put whatever value he wants on himself. An all-pro OL who played out his rookie contract is worth Evans/Mangold type contract.
That is the principle mankins is standing on.
when was the last time neal played a full season?
I didn't realize that Ray Rice's TD impacted the pass rush. Thanks for clarifying.
I'll have to write to the NFL to have them correct the score, because they are showing that the Ravens won by more than a touchdown.
So if he plays 3/4 of a season he gets 1/3 as much? What are you his agent? You're talking to the wrong people.
