Peter King's mid-season All-Pro team....

Re: Peter King's mid-season All-Pro team.....

I could care less what the "rest of America" cares about on a lot of things, least of all Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady. It's been well-established that the middle of the country loves Peyton Manning - despite being born into success & money, poor under pressure, being a bad teammate, a perpetual whiner, and a guy who sexually harasses his college nurses - America just loves a good goober.

Jason Taylor, a lock for the HOF has said repeatedly, that having played against both Manning and Brady....That Brady is a better QB than Manning...

But most recently.........

Troy Palomalu was quoted as saying "Tom Brady might be the best QB to ever play the game"......

Both players are not at all fans of New England...They're both great football players and their opinion should weigh heavily.

Re: Peter King's mid-season All-Pro team.....

Considering you're talking to a fan of a team who has a 4th rd rookie white mormon and 6th rd. DIII all star as their #2 & #3 WR's, I really don't want to hear your excuses.

As opposed to the team who has an UDFA (Welker) as their #2, and, oh, 7th? Roudner as their #3(Edelman)?

Yeah, and I've seen quotes from Baseball players saying that Derek Jeter may be the best defensive shortstop of all time. He's not even the best one on his team.

Opinions are just that.

I'm not the one crying about missing weapons.

Re: Peter King's mid-season All-Pro team.....

And coming off 2004, Peyton was the undisputed #1 QB in the leage. Now that the novelty of Brady's record breaking season has worn off, do you think these coaches feel the same way?

Wasn't Peyton only considered that only because of the novelty of his record breaking season?

You continue to contradict yourself repeatedly. Earlier in this thread you responded to a question about Mannings post season failures with poor defense performance. Someone countered that by saying that the defense was good enough to rack up numerous wins during the regular season. Your response was that the competition wasn't as good during the regular season. Well duh. That's why we have been saying that all of manning's regular season stats have to be taken with a grain of salt.

As for your claims that Jaws and Dilfer called him the GOAT, I am calling shennanigan's on that one. Show me the link. I am sure they have called him ONE OF the Greatest, but I highly doubt they called him THE greatest. So unless you have a link like BradyFTW, I think that is made up.

Re: Peter King's mid-season All-Pro team.....

I merely provided evidence of why the Colts haven't had much postseason success. You're the one who wants to point the finger at a QB who has been as efficient in the postseason as your 3x Super Bowl winner.

You didn't provide any evidence at all. You made a lousy claim that you can't even back up.

Your comparing an opinion of a baseball player to the opinion of 2 of some of the best defensive football players of this decade???

Wow.

Peyton is still considered better than Brady by a lot of people. Up until 2007, he'd never been worse than Brady.

Now, I think both are absolutely elite, and theres no way to tell who is better, because you can't separate them from their teams. They're both really really good.

Wow.

Ted Johnson was a good defensive football player. I'm not sure he even knows his name at this point.

Playing the game does not make you an good talent evaluator. All the sports commentators should show you that. Yes, Polamalu is a great player, but hes not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Also, why would a baseball player be less likely to accurately judge other baseball players, than a football player is able to judge other football players?

Collie was considered the best route runner in the draft, I wanted the Pats to draft this guy. The Pats offense is seemingly much more complicated than the Colts, so I think a rookie coming in and contributing at wideout is much easier in Indy than in NE.

That's the point. The "novelty" of a 50TD season doesn't wear off.

Definitely. Collie looks great, but who makes it with the Pats seems almost unrelated to normal WR talent.

The colts offense is just so simple, but its executed so so well. They beat you straight up with talent and precision. The patriots offense is a big complicated chimeric machine.

How bout this to get started off....

Postseason QB rating (career):

1. Bart Starr – 104.8
2. Kurt Warner – 98.9
3. Joe Montana – 95.6
4. Ken Anderson – 93.5
5. Joe Theismann – 91.4
6. Troy Aikman – 88.3
7. Tom Brady – 88.0
8. Ben Roethlisberger – 87.2
9. Steve Young – 85.8
10. Brett Favre – 85.2
11. Peyton Manning - 85.1

Guess which of these 11 QB's has a losing record in the postseason?

You're missing my point. Why is a 50TD season any better than a 49 TD season? Or a 45 for that matter?

I agree!

To a Pats fan, it doesn't!

Kinda like the novelty of one ring never does for a Colts fan?

I have no idea? I never made that claim. I think their are both pretty good.

The argument is: Who is a better QB? Manning Or Brady?

Statistics can be used for argument...Both have great statistics.

For me, the final answer to this question would be this: "If you could choose between the two to start for your team in a MUST WIN do-or-die game, who would you play?"...The answer would be Brady...Who has proved time and time again, that under the highest of pressure..he gets it done. Manning has had trouble under pressure in the past.

However, if you would like to continue using baseball players as an analogy, then here is one for you...

If your team was playing in a game 7 of the world series and the bases were loaded with 2 out.......Who would you rather have up at bat: Jeter or ARod?
ARod will destroy Jeter statistically...But who in their right mind would want him to be up at bat?

Wait..... are you trying to pretend that this helps your Manning argument? Really? The worst of the 11 QBS, ratings-wise, has a losing record, and you think that's some evidence to support him?

Dude, hugs not drugs.

You agree with what? This is what you posted earlier:

You can't claim that the novelty has worn off and then agree that the novelty hasn't worn off. I guess that is just us easterners not understanding again.
