Let's not write their obituary just yet. Yes, they look horrible. But the Jets have been in this position before, only to go on a late season and postseason run and surprise a few teams. This includes the very embarrassing loss by our own Pats after killing them 45-3 a month earlier.
Over the years, the more likely scenario has been a late season collapse, rather than a rally. With Sanchez as Q.B. and the receiver mix he has, they have a problem. The defense is getting too much work to hold up for an entire game, witness last evening.....

Kontra does have a point, though, in that it's still mathematically possible for the Green Beans to make a playoff run. We need to discipline ourselves to enjoy the coffin nails being applied one at a time.
I don't know. This is not the same Jets team of the previous two years. In the past two years even when they were struggling, you respected or even feared their defense and running game. Now there isn't an aspect of their game that you have to fear because they are not consistent anywhere.
There is always a chance they can turn it around, but I just don't see it. This is the worst team they have fielded in the last three years.

Jets are 100% not the same team as the last 2 years. No rushing game and no D that i am afraid of nor are the rest of the league. With that QB and Eric Smith on D..LOL
Yes they could win out..but this team is so up and down. Now they have to play Buffalo at home in 10 days..another tough one
They have a very significant problem with their record in terms of a play-off berth: they have five, count 'em, five AFC losses.
The conference losses are the Jets' main problem. But in reality, for the rest of us, the real problem is that they have conference wins at all (or any wins, for that matter). . . .

patriots play denver in denver though. Tradiationally a tough game. So we best not get ahead of ourselves.
One thing that I think is that a team like the pats should fly in a few days earlier to get acclimated to the altitude. Even though people say it isn't much of an effect, as in they don't notice it, it still is an effect, especially toward the end of a game. If they were smart they'd sleep at an even higher altitude to better acclimate themselves.
Maybe Revis let Tebow go by b/c he was gasping for breath. You also get a little mentally cloudy too at altitude.

I expect to see a lot of no huddle in that game. There were plenty of Broncos players getting oxygen last night. I think the Pats will try to use the high altitude to their advantage.

yes it is a good idea to fly in early to get use to the air . . . then again the Pats could scrimmage on top of Mount Washington to get used to the mountain air . . .
If one more person says that Brian Schottenheimer is the worst OC in the league, I'm going to jump out my chair, enter my computer cyber portal, and put that person in a headlock.
Sanchez is garbage. He has a career 70 passer rating and one of the worst completion pcts every year. He has plenty of talent around him; in fact, the Jets talent is right up there with the Pats. Holmes, Edwards/Burress, Mangold, D-Brick, Green, LT, Keller... are you kidding me? All of the tools are there.
Mike Martz- greatest OC of all-time with that Rams team; not so good with Cutler and the Bears and the other failed tenures. Charlie Weiss and Josh McDaniels were both geniuses when Tom Brady was their QB... how are they doing now?
Defensive coordinators are much more valuable, since the defensive formations and strategies dictates how the offense lines up. Offensive coordinators can do very little besides give the QB some good options that he needs to make happen. Sanchez doesn't make it happen. All of these check-downs are either his own decisions because he lacks confidence or are necessary because the coach's don't, and shouldn't, trust him.
