Why do they seem to have this "swagger", despite being 2-8?

I'm sure someone else can give you a more profound answer than I. But what your seeing are jets fans being jets fans. That why we hate them so much. They've never won anything in the modern era so all it takes to get them going is an unlikely win and all of a sudden Ratgini is mangenious,and they're on the way to the SB. Its like this every year. I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow some of them show up here beating their chests,and proclaiming tha now they're an the right track and "wait till we play you in Dec. we're going to kick your azz, cheaters."

It could also be a class thing,what I mean is that I get the impression that jet fans are more blue collar,were as Giants fans are more educated. I don't know, I guess I'll see how Giant fans act in late dec.
