Default Ricky Williams fails ANOTHER drug test

I know this is in the main fourm, but there should be one out here too.

Quote:
"Falling off the wagon is part of rehab," a source said. "Based on the medical evidence in Ricky's case, the doctors say it's too early to come back. He had the positive test last month. Remember, he's been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder -- that's a real disease and a good percentage of those folks self-medicate with substances like marijuana, often at the moment they are about to have a high level of social interaction."
He's played his last down in football.

So many Pats fans were getting so excited about the possibility of picking him up if the Dolphins let him go, but I wasn't. I hate to say I told you so but...

Williams is completely unreliable and flaky. Pot is not like other drugs which are physically addictive so if Williams truly wanted to stop he would have. He doesn't want to play football. The only reason he came back is because he would have owed the Dolphins eight millions dollars. I didn't want anything to do with him and this just affirms that.

I have a bigger problem with the NFL than I do Ricky Williams. I hate how serious they consider marijuana to be, to me it's not that huge of a deal. Also keep in mind that he has social anxiety disorder so I'm sure the marijuana helps with that.

I knew something was fishy when the Dolphins drafted a running back in the 3rd round and the front office refused to adress the Ricky situation. I sort of knew something of this nature was coming.

I personally don't think pot is a big deal either, but the fact is that it is still against the rules and even after chance after chance Williams has yet to stop. It's ike he is completely unaware of the situation or he just doesn't care.

And when your career (a very lucrative one at that) hinges on you kicking the mary jane habit, and you can't/don't want to, then I think you have a problem.

Yeah that's true. I just don't think he cares. Why else would he leave a very good thing he had going for a trip to India to be high 24/7?

What a waste of talent huh? We could be talking about him the way we talk about LT had he never retired.

You really saw how good he was when he left the Dolphins. He completely carried that offense. He made a really bad offense decent. Fiedler was exposed as the completely incompetent QB he is. I remember the offense couldn't score a touchdown even if they got the ball right at the five yard line. Williams had trouble in New Orleans as well so he only had two or three really good years, but at his peak he was one of the best if not the best in the league.

Exactly right. I think that Ricky Williams trade was the downfall of this organization over the past 5 years. It cost us the farm in terms of picks, caused Wannsted to ignore the rest of the offense just banking on Ricky, and forced Fiedler into our starter for way too long. This team is still suffering from that deal. Sure he got us 3000 rushing yards and 30 TDs, but this team hasn't been to the playoffs since that trade. (We were in the playoffs the previous 5 seasons prior to the Williams trade.
