Rex told Revis that he was the best player that hes ever coached. Better than Ray Lewis or Ed Reed.

He also said that Revis was as important to the Jets as Brady is to the Patriots or Manning is to the Colts. When a coach talks like that about a player, it gives him tons of leverage in the negotiations. This is why you will never hear Belichick overpraise a player even the caliber of Brady.

If Revis doesn't show my August 10th (the cut off point for him to get credit for the season), look for this hold out to last into the season because the odds are pretty good he will be out.
if Revis is so important to the Jets defense like you guys say he is then the Jets will solve it in the coming week.

So the Jets will have the CBA negotiated and signed by the NFLPA by next week? Good to know there won't be a work stoppage next year because the Jets need to sign Revis by next week.

You do understand that a huge reason why Revis doesn't have a new contract right now is because of the uncertainty of the CBA and the 30% rule. I am sure that Revis won't accept a Ferguson type of contract where nothing is guaranteed until next season just to get a few extra million right now.

some of you are even talking about a week 2 matchup without Revis playing, thats funny.

you know as well as i do that this will be resolved in the coming week and Revis will sign a new contract and be in camp.

the media and fans in general making too much out of it,its all talk talk talk, they will kiss and make up and then have a sexy press conference with everyone claim true love for each other.

the entire thing is kinda funny.
I think this couldn't be further from the truth. Do you know how far apart the two sides are?

Reading Rex Ryan's presser from today and reading BB's pressers from everyday - man, they could not be more different! And, as much as BB may be a d-bag - Ryan just is.

seriously.jets fans.....this is just spinning out of control.I actually feel bad for tannenbaummeister.

The problem here is he needs to tell Jabba the Hut to (Please be quiet - edited)......Ryan is a coach, who acts like he wants to be one of the players.......not a coach's player...but actually...a player.

He puffed up Revis, for no good reason, and now Tanny and the ownership, are paying the price.

They offered to go to Revis's house?.....pathetic.
All they had to do is tell "the anointed one",that being the highest paid DB in the NFL was not going to happen for at least 2 years....period.

Once they made a counter-proposal to a playa,who has 3YRS,left on his contract.....they were toast........Nail meet coffin.

They should have told him:"When you come off this strategy, call us,we'll talk then".

The pats did this with Mankins......Jabarri Evans money?.....sorry,we love you,but no.They may lose him,but they won't be dealing with the Insane Clown Posse, for the next 5 years.

Shut up ryan......stop talking to revis and prepare to move on....otherwise,you're gonna be jimmy carter.....circa 1983....hoping for a miracle.
