How can anyone cut slack when you come here and say you think the Jets have more talent?
On the doorstep of what? You havent even competed for this division in 7 years, and last year, when we didnt have Tom Brady, you were still 2 games behind us.
Please explain what talent you have added to your 9-7 team that made it surpass our 11-5 team that added the GOAT at QB.
If you were a Jest fan, you would want to get your bragging in before the game is played, too. They have learned that year after year their team is better on paper than on the field.

That’s what we always do, and I think the last nine years we’ve put a pretty competitive team out there on the field every year. I think that’s how you do it – you get good football players. Sometimes they are not always at the No. 1 position, but I don’t think you pass up good football players to get the guys who aren’t as good just because they’re at a position that somebody feels you need.”

Our RBS are better
Our O Line is better
Our LBs are better
Our Secondary is better
The Patsies get the edge at QB and WR. oh and kicker and punter.
D Line is a toss up.
What i am saying is this, if you could build a team using both rosters, there would be more Jets starting that Patsies.
The Pats have better overall talent. I would disagree that the d-line is all that close. Jenkins is great, but can't seem to stay together all season. Ellis is up and down. Whoever the other starter may be is not exactly great. The Jets have no depth at the position. Yes, losing Seymour puts it closer, but the Pats still have the edge there by a good amount.
As for RBs, Jones and Washington may be better invidual RBs, but the corp as a whole is not better. The Pats ran for 274 more yards than the Jets last year without Taylor or Maroney. The Pats had one more rushing TD. The Pats had 51 more rushes for first downs. The Jets had 5 more fumbles by rushers than the Pats. The Jets had a better YPC by 0.3 YPC and had two more rushes for over 40 yards than the Pats.
The Pats running backs aren't even close to as good as the Jets. Not even close, having a bunch of marginal backs doesn't make a formidable stable. Thomas Jones led the AFC in rushing last year and Leon Washington would start on NE.
The Jets O Line is one of the best in football.
Mayo is hurt and both Scott and Harris are better MLBs.
Your D Line is not deeper, you've traded away that depth for a 1st round pick in 2011
Pure. Comedy. Gold.

Lets look at this game objectively, it is 2009 a whole new season. Neither the jets or pats made the playoffs last year.
My observations from last nights game:
Brady looked a little rusty in the beginning but flourished under pressure.
The pats offensive line a is a cause for concern. The Bills pass rush which is not really good at all was able to penetrate and rush brady/ hit him on a number of occasions.
The defense seems to have a taken a few steps back. Maybe the loss of seasoned veterans hurts the D, it certainly looks like it. The bills second string runner, was able to carve up the patriots defense on runs and short screens. TO was neutralized, but the other recievers were making great medium ranged catches that move the ball down the field.
now for next week, The patriots offense faces a defensive line vastly superior to the bills, a line that includes that 365 pound monster, Jenkins, and pro bowler Sean Ellis, the jets best pass rusher back fresh from a one week suspension. The linebackers are also better than the Bills, Bart Scott and David Harris were beasts in Houston. And lasty, the secondary which is one of the leagues best, the shutdown corner, Revis, Lito shepherd, another pro bowler who had a pick last week, a great Blitz safety in Rhodes and the former Raven leonard who had a great year with Baltimore.
The patriots o line better be up to the task of protecting Brady on every single down, they cannot afford to take a down off in regards to effort, the Jets will be blitzing over 50% of the time. Brady also needs to get comfortable not having moss to throw to. Revis makes it a habit to shutdown #1 WRs, just talk to Andre Johnson with his 36 yards. Brady will need to utilize Welker, and Watson more so in this game than he will, Moss.
The running game of the pats had under 80 yds rushing combined between their runners against the Bills defense which ranked 22 against the run last season. The Jets only allowed 38 yards rushing this past week, facing the AFC's second leading rusher from last year. The patriots will need to use the pass to set up the run, not the other way around which is more common in the NFL.
The Pats defense is going to face two far better running backs than the Bills 2nd stringer Jackson who managed to get around 140 yds with his 15 rushes and 5 recepetions.
Thomas Jone will be the power runner up the middle and on the goal line, while Leon is a threat in whatever he does, whether he returns a kick, gets a hand off or catches a pass. He was the NFL leader in all purpose yardage last season.
The Jets may not have star recievers but they have capable ones. Cotchery, Stuckey, and the TE Keller all hovered around 100 yds receiving each. The pats wont be able to completely discount the passing game and focus all in on the run.
maybe the funny thing is that you actually dispute what hes saying. The patriots do not have a running game. Their running backs look like they should be collecting social security at this point. They are not even that diverse running style wise. where as Jones and Washington are the opposite types of running backs. Jones is the tank, leon is the speedster. Jones led the AFC in rushing last season, and Leon led the NFL in all purpose yardage.
The Jets offensive line is top 2 in football second only to the giants by most estimations.
Mayo is only in his second year. David Harris and Bart Scott are better linebackers at this point.
Your defensive line is not nearly as good as you attempt to make it out to be. Losing seymour will hurt big time.
1.) Jets fans, as they so often do, are putting far too much weight on one win.
2.) The Jets offensive line is overrated by Jets fans.
3.) Lobster and prime rib make a great Surf & Turf combination
4.) The Jets might be catching a break, because Mayo could miss the game.
5.) A slice of cheese can really make or break a sandwich.
6.) The Patriots are integrating a lot of new players, especially on defense.
7.) Brady looked much better in the second half.
8.) Roger Goodell is a terrible commissioner and the NFL officials are horrible.
9.) The Jets are going to be very physical under Ryan.
10.) If towns are going to require dogs to be leashed at all times, they should set up a dog park so the dogs have a chance to run free somewhere.

I wonder what it's like to get your hopes up in September year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year
after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year ( forty times since 1969) only to get your balls punched in every December.
It must suck.
A lot.

Harris is better than Mayo? Look down to your side, I think you'll find a midget named "Tattoo" staring up at you.

And, yet, while I agree with you about the loss of Seymour and it's impact upon the line, it should still be better than the Jets' line, even before we get into discussions about depth.
