If the Jests don't sign Cook this weekend, he'll come visit the Pats. They should wait for that if for no other reason than to run the price up for the Jests. They have already mortgaged the future for a questionable vet QB, and without a good OL. Let them stay on the spending spree. Then sign Zeek. He'll be great to have for passing downs, in blitz pickup and check downs.

It's not taking snaps away, it's spelling your workhorse. I doubt they want Stevenson taking 75% or more of the snaps, he will wear down. At the same time, it's hard to find a player with the skillset to do everything Stevenson does, even if he's not as good. Zeke can do that but not with a high snap count. With a light load for a couple drives a game, or a substitution for certain situations, could work.
I like the idea of adding Elliott.. I believe the team is just looking at experience beyond rham.. our young guys strong Jr. And harris got to dip thier toe in the water last season.. but obviously not experienced. All the cap space maneuvering.. they are going to have to do something. That what Elliot would bring at this point in his career.

I'm saying that the Pats will go with the cheapest option. Hes not going to be cheap. Zeke still probably comes in at around $5 million or something. If Lenny wants $2 million or less with incentives they'll go with Lenny. No question.
Belichick has many considerations. Finding the cheapest option is not one.

The cheapest option is JJ Taylor.

Not sure how much he has left in the tank. But why the heck not for a bit of added depth?

Some folks are fine with Rham, Strong, Harris, Montgomery and Taylor.

Pats could use a veteran rb in the rb group.
I don't want Cook anymore because anyone who refers to himself in the third person should not be on the team.
Zeke is not the Zeke of old but he can still pass block and catch short throws out of the backfield. Likely would be a good addition as a back up and steadying presence

I think signing Zeke pushes Taylor off the 53 and it’s Ty insurance. I hope Harris and Strong get some playing time somewhere somehow.

Zeke will get 10ish touches per game running / receptions.

Strong was catching passes this week with the 1st team offense and has 4.3 speed. BB said he and Harris have improved significantly. I think we should see what Strong and Harris have to offer. I could not care less about "veteran" RBs like Cook and Elliot - RBs drop off the cliff really fast.

Zeke is just trying to curry favor. He hopes he’ll be following Brown up the field instead sitting on the beach as a washed up RB.

If we do sign Zeke, probably a good idea to do it before the Jets set the market by overpaying Cook.

At this point, since they aren’t paying anybody else, it doesn’t hurt to bring him.
