Is there such a stat? I bet Ernie Adams has one.
Of course the best WR Tommy likes is the open receiver but with top
pass defenses it is not easy to find an open receiver.
In the NFL, receivers with an ability to get open often because of speed,
quickness, smarts or a combination of these do not grow on trees.
So if you can't find this type of receiver, wouldn't the next best type of
receiver be one that has a high percentage of contested catches Add to
this stat an interceptions on contested catches stat then
armed with these two stats you could find very valuable receivers for todays NFL.
What led me to start thinking this way was the videos of the two new
WRs the PATS signed. So many of their catches in those videos were
contest catches. I wonder if PATS are hunting for this type of receiver.
PATs already have a TE that is like this.
Does any one know of such a stat(s)?
