Ask this question after the postseason.
No. I still love the guy. I don't think anyone's giving us one anyway, with his health history.
So you want to trade:
The greatest TE to ever play,
who's the best receiving TE,
maybe the biggest Redzone threat in all of the NFL,
one of the best blocking TE,
who's in his prime,
who's on a very team friendly contract,
for just a first round pick?
I would start with a 1st and 2nd, minimum, just to pick up the phone. Or a 1st and an impact player. I'm wanting an absolute haul if I'm about to trade a HOFer, in his prime, on a perfect contract. The injury concerns alone would be reason enough for teams to make low-ball offers. You won't get what he is worth.
It makes no sense to moving an injury concern when they aren't making a ton of money. You only do it if the contract is a burden. The contract isn't a burden, so a trade just doesn't make any sense. None.
I would not trade Gronk for a 1st round pick. Next year we have him for a good deal and he has no leverage to ask for more money. I know he has trouble staying healthy but when he is healthy is one of the most destructive forces on the offensive side of the ball. I would keep him until his current deal is up.
Would you trade Gronk for a 1st?
We have a playoff bye week this year so trade Gronk threads are more acceptable, even if the thought of dumping the best player ever is crazy talk.
I have far too much of a sentimental attachment to Gronk to even begin to look at trading him objectively. The bidding starts at 2 1sts, 2 mid rounders and we get the other team's TE plus we need Marty locked up.
Gronk is the greatest TE in history. A single first rounder is an insult.
If the other team has a concern about his durability then they shouldn't do the deal.

FYI, having Gronkowski on the team next year will be a $7M cap hit, or $6M cap hit by trading him. So you'd rather save that $1M for a 1st round pick that will potentially cost you $3-5M and not be guaranteed to be anywhere near the player Gronk is.
Whisky. Tango. Foxtrot.
If Gronk stays healthy and has a 2014 "Gronk" year he is a steal up to 2019.
Money and cap space are not a concern.
Agreed, I just don't see the point in trading him next year for a potential 1st. You're effectively trading $1M in cap space and a risk of Gronk getting injured for a 1st round draft pick and the risk of Gronk having a full HOF season.
I get that people are frustrated about Gronk's injuries, but I'd imagine most teams would gladly take the Patriots up on that offer if they were stupid enough to make that deal.
The reason I started the thread is because I just saw Troy Brown and Felger and whats that trolls name.. Breer? Anyway they both said they WOULD trade Gronk for a 1st round pick.
I sure hope Troy wasn't agreeing with those two idiots.OK, NOW I understand.....
I think we've found the problem.....
