Would you give up a 2nd for Leonard Williams?

I’d pay 10-12 for him.

I truly think he was grossly misused by the Jets. He’s a pro bowl level player.
I disagree. He is an underachiever and blaming his play on misuse is BS.
He isn’t a major run stopper and he isn’t a pass rushing force.
He’s a nice player but teams that pay 14 mill for guys who aren’t anything special end up looking a lot like Williams current team.
Sure the cap is rising but the 7 figure a year players are limited. When you miss on those you are in trouble.

Do they ever actually draft and retain lottery players on reasonable terms? They’ve now dumped everyone except Wilkerson, who quickly ate himself out of the league. Everything they do is like the bizarro Patriots. Seriously how can you have a top 10 pick for like eight straight years but have no good players on your roster? I can guarantee Adams either leaves or signs some absurd $20M per year deal and then stops trying.

Adams will not do that

Adams has already decided that he needs to tell management what to do (and since it’s the Jete they not only allow but support it) so he’s 2 years away from holding out.

I think you could characterize Gilmore the same way before he arrived here. He was an underachiever his last couple years in Buffalo and largely blamed it on Buffalo’s system. I recall Hogan absolutely torching him.

Scheme makes a huge difference to some players! I’d want us to pay Trey and then see where we are left there.. one thing to note is our draft capital this year. If Williams would take 10-13m a season then year but if he wants more than that I’m not touching him. A one year deal for a second... not in a million years

The jets were using Williams as a linebacker at one point weren’t they? that is gross Mis use

You realize he can be both an underachiever and also be misused, right?

Then you said he was a nice player after calling him and underachiever. So why is he underachieving? Was he just overrated? Or is he not trying hard enough? Or something else.

Coaches shouldn’t put players in position to fail

Maccagnan has no earthy clue what he is doing.

He would easily be one of our top 3 defensive players (Gilly & Trey).

With that said no way the Jests trade him to us.

Yea no one knows what Williams' deal is.

How many times has BB plucked a player off another team's scrap heap and made him a key contributor here. The lastest being KVN.

If he came here we'd find out real quick what the issue was.

This is comical. Perfect example of why you can’t collect players at one position. They wasted 3 high 1st round picks on D-lineman and look where it got them? The Lions did it at WR and the Jags are doing it with their D-line.

BB would have to really see something in the tape to dedicate 14 million toward the cap for him

Totally agree.

Even if he was on a team outside of the conference, I don't see it happening @ $14m

Not too mention giving up a 2nd for a one year rental with that price tag.
Then there's the whole jete stank thing...

Worked out pretty well with Seymour, Warren, and Wilfork. The issue is the talent and dedication of the players, not the philosophy of team building.

His work ethic is questionable.
If you want to explain how he was misused specifically, go for it, but those kind of comments are usually excuses, especially for a DL.

He is a nice player means he is ok, doesn’t suck, but isn’t worth that kind of money.

That’s my opinion of him.

Agree but hes not worth $14m

Seems like there is always a $$$$ thing with some of you Patriots fans. Williams is a solid player young and not even in the prime of his career. Yeah he not worth that just like when Trey Flowers gets paid by his next team: the consensus around here will be that the other Team overpaid. You can't always get something for nothing in this league. 12- 14MIll is the gong rate for a good D-Lineman take it or leave it.

They’ve lined him up at middle linebacker multiple times. And not just this year. Last year too. That’s one way he was misused
