I wish they had more than one pick in each of the first 3 rounds.
Feels like that every year.

Should've had two 3rds if the NFL didn't screw them on the JC Jackson deal...Feels like that every year.
NE could trade up to 3rd overall with Arizona just by sending their 1st next year and a couple of their 4ths this year. If Richardson is still there at 3 I’d be thinking on that. You could make a similar deal with Houston for 2nd overall but would have to include your 2nd this year at a minimum, probably. Or a player with decent value.
Bump. This is gold. Shouldn’t we be paying for the privilege of this?Couple of WR I really like that will there after RD1-2/3. There versatility to play all three WR positions and more just scream NEP.
Mingo is very intriguing bc of size and movements but has potential to line up everywhere next level. Big physical slot with nice footwork. Has 125 + snaps inline and is arguably the best blocker in the class. You can use him in a variety of ways. Vertical from slot, fades on press - nice tracking and body control, MOF target or schemed touches like screens or if you have him lining up inline/backfield. Can make you miss or carry you a few yards.
Reed is 5'10/190 and can play all three spots bc of his release package, tracking, ball skills, nuanced rr and ability to beat press/man. He can play some X imo and like ive said our slot/Z duties are similar. He could obviously do both of those. He can give you snaps returning too. Not a burner but love his acceleration in real games and he doesnt lose much if any on a restem or double or weaving. Very nice at the catch point for his size. Instant quickness. Hes a player.
Few others I really like after RD1/2 like Perry, Scott and Tillman (RD 2). Stanford boys but those two really jump out.
1. Trade #14 plus their 2024 first round pick to Indianapolis for #4I didn't want a big trade-up for either Corky or Fields, and I don't want one for this guy either.
It's that time of year. You think too much, Ross.
Are you high? None of the quarterbacks in this draft are worth anything close to1. Trade #14 plus their 2024 first round pick to Indianapolis for #4
2. Trade #4, a 4th rounder and Mac Jones to Houston for #2
3. Draft QB (Anthony Richardson or whomever they like that isn't CJ Stroud)
4. Colts trade #14 and their 2024 first to Baltimore for Lamar Jackson; they'll still have NE's 2024 first
IMO Richardson is a damn good prospect. You're using your own pick, one of your 4ths, a future 1st, and your current QB who would probably net a 2nd today in a trade on a guy with 1st overall potential. I think the trade makes sense. It certainly carries risk though. Are you high? None of the quarterbacks in this draft are worth anything close to

2023 4th.
IMO it’s a total Jete move to draft Richardson and dump Mac now. He’s only been in the NFL for 2 seasons and been to the Pro Bowl once (regardless of circumstances). We need to put better players around him…not play QB musical chairs.
We've met with Mingo and Flowers and Addison among others which tells me we're leaning WR early again.Bump. This is gold. Shouldn’t we be paying for the privilege of this?
I love Mingo, whose size is great for blocking and boxing out.
Reed is furiously climbing up the rankings with his Senior Bowl performance, which he opened up some eyes.
As a State fan, I can attest to some huge TD grabs in 2021 against Penn State and Michigan with guys dropped all over him.
Good post even though i understand @Zuma post and that side of things. It's not a good move to go through QB's like they're cars or w/e but at the same time. You need elite from that position. You need a difference maker. It's not a 100% absolute but if not you'd better have a top tier line, top 10 scoring D, top tier targets, scheme that can hide some weakness but also adapt in big games. And the biggest challenge is keeping all those parts healthy and up to date. Just not easy.1. BB has been rumored to be shopping Mac Jones. That suggests that for whatever reason he doesn't like Mac or doesn't feel comfortable with him as New England's starting QB. He has repeatedly refused to name Mac as the starting QB when questioned directly on this very topic.
2. Mac Jones, even if he hits his 'ceiling' will only ever be an upper mid tier QB. He doesn't project to be an elite QB in the NFL.
3. Anthony Richardson has insane athleticism for the position and if he develops properly could turn into a top 5 talent in the NFL. Does he bear risks? Yes. The accuracy and consistency issues are a concern. But with a proper throwing coach and a professional OC/QB coach like BOB developing him, AR has a real chance of hitting that superstar ceiling. The idea of that is quite tantalizing.
4. Like it or not BB needs an 'Elite' QB to win championships. Does that exist on the roster right now? Doubtful.

1. BB said no. No other teams have confirmed it.1. BB has been rumored to be shopping Mac Jones. Maybe they swap Lance with Mac. Let Lance compete with Zappe and see what happens. Mac can compete with Purdy and Shanahan gets the QB he probably wanted in the first place 2 years ago. Mac can be a facsimile for Garoppolo in their offense but not made of glass.1. BB said no. No other teams have confirmed it.
2. Projecting elite QBs...lol, that always worked out. There's this guy named Brady...
3. So does Trey Lance. Maybe we should swap with SF, eh? Develops properly...meaning learns how to throw. No big deal for the position, I guess.
4. That's F&M-level nonsense. See my earlier posts and look at the QBs not named Brady who have won the SB in the last 20+ years. See a lot of "elite" players there? Or are you contending that other coaches, like McVay in LA or Pederson in Philly can win with less-thank elite, but BB can't?
Richardson is an intriguing prospect, I agree, but this reasoning is...

It feel like it's impossible to get an Allen or Mahomes but think about those teams prior to their arrival. It's possible, you have to keep swinging though.
