Here's hoping we eventually find our Hunter.
I think we're gonna find out this season if Kendrick B can become our Hunter R.

I really him and what Henry did last year. I like the rapport Mac has with all the different guys. Henry, Bourne, Meyers. Here's hoping TT or even Nixon develop that same chemistry.I think we're gonna find out this season if Kendrick B can become our Hunter R.
If KB get's a little better, Henry get's a little better, Smith steps it up and lives up to even his past season production, and Mac and Stevenson take a step in right direction. You're talking about a very potent offense that is adding some potential with Thornton and even Nixon seeming to come on strong in camp.I really him and what Henry did last year. They're no longer tested for weed, right?
Mac's best time was actually 4.68sWe've talked about this. Mac CAN run - he has above average short area quickness (7.04 3-cone) and above average speed (4.8 forty) So why can't be be a threat to run? Not that I'm espousing that we run an RPO offense, but when are you going to acknowledge that he has all the athletic ability to do so if needed
even better. I just went off the combine time. But regardless, he is plenty fast and plenty quick enough to be more than a statue in the pocket QB. The athletic part IS something that needs to be developed over the next several years, but it will happenMac's best time was actually 4.68s
Yea I'm not worried about the offense besides OL depth. We have a good group of targets and there's reason to believe guys will make a second year jump. It literally comes down to Mac to maximize that side of the ball.If KB get's a little better, Henry get's a little better, Smith steps it up and lives up to even his past season production, and Mac and Stevenson take a step in right direction. The Pat's are more loaded with talent than most people think. The biggest Q to me is Defense. But they definitely got faster, Collins, KVN, and Hightower were banged up and slow last year. They were getting burned.
Well BB has only had a defense below top 10 once or twice in the last 22 years I believe. So he probably has a pretty good idea of how he's going to defend with this groupYea I'm not worried about the offense besides OL depth. Defensively I'm worried about out secondary with so many new bodies here for the first time, back or in their second year. We have an excellent Saf corp but CB is different story.
I'm confident he has plan A, B & C. A little nervous about the chemistry, communication etc but yea his track record speaks for itself.Well BB has only had a defense below top 10 once or twice in the last 22 years I believe. You can do RPO and hand off the the RB rather than the “triple option” thing but ultimately its just “let the x run a slant and throw to him instead of handing off it he’s open.I agree mostly. I hope the Pats don't go the RPO routed either, my point is that they COULD because Jones IS a good enough athlete. Personally I think he'll better off using that athleticism to move more and escape in the pocket and do more bootlegs and sprint outs where he actually forces the defense to defend the outside.
BTW- What I mean by a sprint out is to try and set your pocket behind the OT and often flood the outside zones with a TE crossing underneath as a safety valve. You need your RB's to be good blocker on these plays. Another way to get an extra blocker is to motion your TE/WB to the play side.

With the QB run, I equate it to the old triple option but there is a pass option instead of a pitchman. The point being to stress the defense, make them commit to something and do the other.Yes, exactly this. So much confusion about RPO - many assume it necessarily involves the QB sometimes keeping the ball and running.
Because the line is run-blocking it has to be a quick pass or you end up with illegal man downfield (lineman more than 3 yards downfield when ball is thrown) penalty. RPO's can be used in conjunction with any sort of run blocking - gap, outside zone, whatever.

Without the qb run it’s just a shot at any easy completion if you get the right look.
