There will be many, many offers this year. Posters here think that the Josh should stay, and build up his resume coaching Brady and learning from Belichick. He should ignore all considerations of his family's well being. Josh can set himself up for life, and his children and grandchildren also. This is Josh's opportunity. There could be many more, or not.
Of course, Josh should carefully assess the opportunities and choose a better organization than Mangini did, and better than Detroit. BTW, I think Mangini's skill as a coach will not prevent him from immediately getting another job; as some else posted, spygate might.
Josh is a lot more qualified to manage the defense that Romeo was (and is) qualified to judge the offense.
Josh has noticed that there are some successful young coaches.
And if Josh fails in his first effort at being a coach, he will be a failure forever??????????????
I seem to recall a certain Clevelenad coach. Seriously, Josh will be at least as marketable having been a head coach for 2-5 to five years rather than having chosen to stay and forever be the OC who would have been nothing without Belichick, Brady, Moss and Welker.
And if Pioli goes, Josh just might give Pioli's offer special consideration.
excellent post.
on the other hand, i am guessing that BB is arguing that a 32 yr old should stick around longer to vastly improve his chances of being a GREAT HC, not a rich mediocre one. that is the only argument for sticking around.
josh, are you confident enough in yourself to believe that the HC offers will ALWAYS be there down the road?? (yes)
