We all know BB is incredibly stubborn. However, he also continually preaches doing what's best for the team. Clearly with a team bordering on dysfunctionality, the "Hail Moron", the worst RZ offence in the league do you think he will swallow his pride and change OC? I've no problem with Patricia being moved somewhere else, but I almost can't comprehend the possibility that next season see's him still calling offensive plays.

Patricia will quietly be moved to a new role either in the front office or defense. And judge hopefully back to special teams.

Kraft said before season he didn't agree with how bill handled the coaching season but he "afforded the opportunity" to prove him wrong.

Well the results show Bill was wrong and not hiring a real OC was a huge disaster. I see no way he can go to Kraft and say "I'm running this back."

No matter how it shakes out, it'll be talked about a lot by everyone from staffers to players to media to fans.

Regarding the "be moved to defense" possibility, what would the coaching hierarchy on that side of the ball look like?
Patricia under Stevie but above Brian?
Mayo's equal but a subordinate to all coaches whose name ends in "ick"?

At some point I hope Jonathon steps in (because Pops is on a Viagra bender) and refuses to continue to finance Bill's Friends & Family clique.

This BB clique reminds me of the scene in Goodfellows when Henry is in prison with Paulie and the other goombas.
Cast:
BB as Paulie, the Don who couldn't give 2 fecks about the warden and prison rules
Patricia as Vinnie, the rocket scientist of sauce
Judge as Johnny D, meat fryer but not much else
Stevie B as Henry, the opportunist

Have to wonder the defensive players mindset if Patricia gets repurposed as a D consultant

Next year's OC: Belichick's girlfriend

JK. I think a change is made. I just hope Patricia isn't moved somewhere else important that could affect the team in 2023.

If BB feels the in-game play calling is not the issue, which I'm not convinced it is, and that progress has been made in spite of the OL and QB play, then I could see MP returning. BB could view this as a transition year offensively, i.e. moving on from 13 years of Josh to a combination of BB and MP.

I think the only way he replaces MP is if Bill O'Brien is available. He's not gonna bring in someone who has a whole different system. MP is a trusted coach.

Better QB = better play calling.

The plays that are there to made now are not being executed.

If we get a real OC next year, Meyers should be celebrated as a hero.

If we keep Patricia in his current role (or, god forbid, expand his existing role), Meyers should not even receive a contract offer. Unless other teams feel the same, then we should re-sign him for cheap. Doesn't really matter what we do with the roster in this scenario because Patricia is still the OC.

I never believed that BB wanted Matt Patricia for OC. I think he wanted and still wants Scott Obrien. I mean he still can't acknowledge Matt Patricia is the OC. Its almost as if this was always a temporary thing from the start and he is just waiting to approach Obrien next year after his contract with his good friend Saban ends in 2022. No facts to back this up, just a feeling that I've always had since Matt Patricia rejoined the Patriots again.

Bama fans despise Bill O'Brien but Saban is similarly stubborn. Worth noting that several Tide offensive players have entered the portal hinting that maybe BoB is staying.

Not clear how anyone (not talking about you) can say progress has been made. Are we watching the same team?
In order to improve something, you need to know what to specifically fix or change. Changing from MP may not fix a thing. We need better OL play, first and foremost.

It has to be made, else BB can go himself as well, can't accept the current state and just pretend nothing has to change.
