The AAF is the other one I was thinking of.
I'm wondering how the WNBA has managed to stay afloat.
Niche market and low salaries.
Don't forget the NBA pumps millions into the league so it stays solvent.
Perhaps you could explain that to the NFL, as it's trying to add games to its schedule...
The NBA subsidizes the league.
WNBA Players Should Stop Complaining. If Anything, They're Overpaid
I'll tune if the Bruins or Celtics aren't on and...if they are I'll flip to the xfl on commercial...hope the league succedes...fukc Goodell and the NFL
Does that mean you'll spend your time on an XFL message board instead of this one? That would be great!
I’ll watch if I see it on but it’s not exactly appointment viewing.
If AB was playing I would watch.
The NFL is a completely different product than the XFL is and will be. The NFL has a completely different season than the NFL would have. I agree that adding two more games is absurd, but there’s a better chance getting unmet demand out of two more games of the NFL than there is with the XFL. Ask yourself if you really think that there is unmet demand for lower-end segment of offseason football? If you’re having trouble, let the thread help you. The synopsis of most responses in this thread are “if I’m not doing anything else/if I remember it’s on, I’ll check it out.” This has a VERY high probability of failure and it doesn’t exactly take an analytical mind to figure that out. That’s especially true if McMahon has other investors to make happy. That makes it imperative that they come out of Week 1 strong, especially in their first year where they’re likely to have a negative net profit or break even anyway. I don’t think it’s going to be profitable enough to last after one season and McMahon will need to do what he did before - retrench back to the WWE.
Just like the AAF, I'll give it a shot if I am home and there is nothing else on.
I don't expect the league to work. That being said, the idea that I should use a thread from a Patriots fan forum as proof, when most of the fans who post there are parochial as hell to start with, and are so depressed over the recent playoff loss that most of them are probably popping Valium and Ambien as if they are Tic Tacs, is just not an idea that I'm going to sign off on.
I was all in for the WLAF back in the 90's. Now I don't care. If I needed an excuse to leave the house and drink beer in a bar for 3-hours I might be talked into the XFL...
If they upped the style of play, probably. I’m talking steel armored shoulder pads with spikes. 6 inch razor sharp cleats, Small lakes with crocodiles on the field with lions and tigers patrolling the sidelines and end zone. Definitely.
Interested to see how their rule changes work out.
If you have another sample of football fans to work with then by all means, use it. I didn’t. This thread was the only sample I could work with in order to drive home a point that you apparently agree with anyway. Point taken on the mindset of the fans here.
That it's easier to do things when you're a billionaire compared to when you're a millionaire?
Does he post "NFL OTAs in 27 days" in Red Sox forums?
The double forward pass could be a lot of fun.
For the Pats, having Sanu and Edelman passing could've made for some neat shenanigans this past season, if maybe they were healthier and younger and there was actually a third guy on the team who could've caught said pass.
