Yeah I think they could have won it with Brady. Imagine being the 49ers you could have had the goat (probably at a discount too) but instead you trade three 1st round picks for.... Trey Lance.

Yep, Welker gave Tom inside info that they were sticking with Jimmy.

Lynch and Shanahan couldn’t see the big picture that Tom would’ve also brought Gronk, AB and eventually Fournette. Gronk and Kittle? OMG!

I do think it's possible that BB being tight with MikeShanahan, was a factor in trading Jimmy cheap for a 2nd round pick to his son in SF.

yea possible. this quote was from past summer before this wickersham/welker story. story doesnt fully line up i guess either way since Brady says team was interested till end/he wasnt interested....while Wickersham story is Brady was interested/SF wasn't really interested past initial "curiosity" which is also what Lynch said (or maybe Mikey)

This also might explain why Bill was so unprepared to replace Brady. He thought Brady would end up in SF, and he could get Garappolo back to replace him.

I just find it a funny that a poster who defends Brady is now insinuating that deflategate actually happened just to prove some other sidepoint.

I’ve been posting for years that I believe that Brady was pissed that refs were constantly overinflating the balls because that’s just what they routinely did during their final inspections of footballs before games across the league and so told his guys to make sure the air pressure was fixed to what it was supposed to be. Which is an equipment violation that deserved like a 50k fine.

Yeah as a Chiefs fan I am so glad the 49ers decided to throw the ball up 10 points. Had they continued to run it they probably have 6 SB's today.

I think it's crazy that the 49ers stuck with Jimmy G. The trade up was even worse.

Shanahan is overrated too. Like what has this guy accomplished? Sans getting outscored like 80-10 in the second half of two SB's in four years.

He's the Doc Rivers of this league.

I'm sure the ball pressure was adjusted by Deflator and Dorito dink throughout the season. The texts show it. "I'm going to make that next ball a f-n balloon"

But it didn't happen that night. Science proved it.

The Dorito Dink/Deflator texts took place in June/July, not during the season.
The Wells Report deliberately listed them out of sequence to make it look like it happened in season.
When I found this out, I was flabbergasted.

why? Brady in SFO was never going to happen for cap reasons.....part of this is that Tampa had perfect positioning cap wise to bring Brady in and then Gronk, Suh, Fournette, Brown

Nope. Lynch and Shanahan considered it. If it wasn’t possible, they wouldn’t have considered it. They were at a point of Jimmy’s contract where they couldn’t cut bait. Cap had nothing to do with their blunder.

they considered it until they found out what they would have to dump in order to make it happen.........they were never close to doing it
