Who's your CB trade binky??

Since we all know a CB trade is basically what everyone wants over the next few weeks, which player from which team do you guys prefer? Also why do you prefer them, and if you think the trade is an actual reality, why?

Early in the season, I personally liked the thought of a Sean Smith of KC trade due to his suspension. That has come and gone, so I don't see that happening.

Ive personally moved on to hoping that Seattle beats Detroit this Monday, leaving the Lions 0-4 and putting the pad lock on their season. Rashean Mathis is a very solid veteran corner. He placed inside the top 20 corner rankings from many ranking websites this past season, and didn't look to be slowing down very much. This is probably why the Lions resigned him this offseason, which happened to be a very team friendly contract. I think the addition of him would put this team in the area of the most complete Patriots teams since 04/07, possibly even ever. He's also said to have great leadership qualities and would be great mentoring some of the younger high upside corners our team has on the roster.

This beer i'm currently drinking goes out to the the Lions going 0-5 making this a possibility. Facing both the Seahawks and Cardinals over the next two weeks, this may be a reality.

Looking forwards to other thought's and opinion's.

He had a pretty good game against Denver last week, allowing just 5 catches and causing a forced fumble, still proving he can be an asset to his team.

Keenan Lewis is, but it's a pipe dream. Sean Smith isn't going anywhere. KC's pass defense took a turn for the worse with him out. They'll keep him to stabilize their secondary until Peters gets up to speed.

Besides fletcher I like the group we have. Maybe get Swanson back. Unless we get a good deal I don't get too high for other teams players. You never know how they will work in our system. Who knows how Mathis will play here? Look at browner he is not doing well in NO.

Why are you so sure Belichick chose Fletcher over Mathis or there was no interest? He could have been interested but only at 1 year. You also completely ignore Mathis had been with the Lions since '13 and they offered a 2 year deal. Could just be Mathis liked his situation in Detroit and they gave him the best deal.

Brandon Browner. Would only cost about $900,000 for rest of year. Next years salary is $2.75 guaranteed so that would be the dead hit to cut him or we keep him with a $2.25 roster bonus for a $5 mil cap hit.

He's nothing special, except he brings that nasty attitude, veteren experience and knows our system. NO is on the fast track to rebuilding and he's 31.

BB didn't value Mathis much at all like the rest of the league. This isn't rocket science.

Starting CBs get paid 8million+. Depth CBs 4 million. Even Arrington was paid 2m+ from Baltimore.

Mathis returned back to Detriot because noone else wanted him much at all. That's why he's paid peanuts.

I don't think it's nearly as simple as saying that $1.5M is the difference between where a guy plays, especially when that player has career earnings of $37 million. I also have no idea how this factors into the original point of how Belichick "chose" one guy over another at "almost the same cost."

Browner. Knows the system, veteran poise, and makes plays. Can be a hotheaded liability, at times. But on balance is an asset on the roster as a way to create favorable matchups.

I don't know if there is one. Any corner who's potentially available is likely to be just as bad as Bradley Fletcher and Logan Ryan. Absent extenuating circumstances like Talib, teams don't usually trade away quality players. You never know - you may get lucky, but you probably won't, and Browner doesn't fit this year's defense.

I would take a flyer on two Browns CBs. I like Desir at 6'2" and 25 years old and I would take a shot at Justin Rogers, first rounder who is lost but has talent. He's only 23.

Another might be Bene Benwikere from the Panthers. He started 10 games in 2014 as a rookie . 7 PBU. Decent size at 6' and 195 lbs."Good size. Excellent ball skills -- plays the ball in the air like a receiver. Competes in the air, can highpoint the ball and snag INTs with his hands. Quick to read run and pass. Has special-teams experience, including as a gunner and jammer. Good football intelligence. Demonstrated secondary versatility -- has played corner, safety and nickel back." Has only 4.6 speed abut almost a 41" jump.

The "steal" might be Alterraun Verner of the Bucs. He might have been a top five CB in 2013. He is only 26. Not playing a lot of snaps (dog house?).

I know CB is still a need but I still see WR Alshon Jeffrey of the Bears as doable. If LaFell is not healthy and Keyshawn Martin is more of a 5'10" or 5'11" Amendola/Edeleman type, if we can deal Dobson in that trade with another player who would be an instant Bears starter like a Wilson, why not?
