Who will be the new OC?

So is Fat Matt Un-Poachable??
Patricia has a front office position. He's not a coach right now. You're as bad a DKF with this junk.

The only good news is Troy Brown may get the sole "WR coach" title. Micky might not have been very good - N'keal failed miserably, Agholor regressed, Gunner showed promise as a rookie and steadily lost his hands. Maybe Brown will be an upgrade?
As far as scheme and gameplan, I'm fine if BB & Matty P create a plan and allow the position coaches to install it - it's only about who calls the plays and adjustments during the game. And for that.... Mac himself! OR - get this - Hoyer the playcaller.
Let Mac cook!
WTF are you talking about? Gunner hasn't lost his hands..

Why are people assuming that Patricia is moving back to the field after only 1 year in the front office?

Fringe statement...I don't mind if Fat Matt coaches again for the Patriots. OC or DC is fine by me. Don't mind that I am the only one in the known visable universe that feels that way.

I’m with you, but I think OC wouldn’t be smart.

I wonder how Jonathan really feels about this arrangement... or Mac...
Since when did anyone think Belichick wasn’t in charge of everything at the macro level and delegated to his coaches to carry out his plans.
It’s been that way since day 1.

Nothing better than a 70 year old coach having to revamp his entire roster and coaching staff in two years.
Every year is different. Many things about a football team change in a year of 2, especially the successful ones.
Maintaining success is about dealing with change, and this organization has been very good at it since BB walked in the door

Mike Reiss believes it's Fat Matt and Judge leading the offensive play calling.

And people thought I was joking when I said Matt Patricia would be some type of OC next year.

Please sweet 8-pound, 6-ounce Baby Jesus with the Golden Fleece diapers NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Yes, it it horribly disrespectful for Josh to give Lombardi a promotion to OC.

Lombardi should have refused a promotion out of respect. Our coaches shouldn't accept promotions.

What a bunch of crap.

Brick wasn't promoted, and neither was Hardegree.

Hardegree was a quality control coach working with the quarterbacks this past season. In Las Vegas, he's not quality control and he's not assistant QB coach. He's the actual quarterbacks coach.

What the fu-ck's he gonna say? He owes Bill his livelihood, after all.
He could of not even brought it up.
The question was along the lines would you like to Coach the Patriots.
He could of said alot of different things.
But he specifically went in about how Bill hasn’t missed a beat turning 70.
I think that is accurate.

The problem with this would be you'd have to make Hoyer a coach (which he doesn't seem to want to do). Because otherwise, if he's the playcaller AND the backup QB, if god forbid something happens to Mac and Hoyer has to play, he can't do both. So someone who hasn't been calling plays all year would suddenly have to do it.

QBs used to call their own plays all the time.

But how long has it been since that's really happened? And by that I mean they're truly calling the plays, not a Brady situation where he gets a playcall from an OC but then has full autonomy to change out of it depending on what he sees. Player coaches used to be a more common thing in sports, but it really hasn't been that way for many, many years.

You mean the number two rated defense in points and number rated defense in yards. Yes. It’s working quite well.
Those rankings are overrated. You could clearly see the Pats were overachieving on the field. They are weak on the D-line and their LB's are atrocious. Secondary got roasted by teams that could actually throw the ball. They have a lot to address on that side of the ball this offseason.
