Who will be the new OC?

"Always has" as he will probably do / should / must do in 2022 ? At the same extent and level of direct involvement ? dont think so.
Yes. What do you think he does?
All of the coaching and game planning is split among the staff, delegated, overseen and dictated by Belichick. Having an experienced coordinator only takes some of that delegation away from position coaches and on to the coordinator over time, simply because the longer the grow in the position the more responsibilities they can handle themselves.
Belichick is going to create the game plan by himself or call the plays but he oversees the game planning and part of that game planning is choosing the plays to use and which ones in which situations.
Josh McDanieks didn’t ignore belichick and decide the structure of the offense and the decision making in calling plays, he did it within Belichicks parameters.

Let’s see how this goes BB was the one who went and got Moss.
We maybe we will see a commitment to the passing game.
Who's Moss (not Agholor). Who's Welker?

Anyone who thinks a 70 year old can carry the same load as his 48 year old self is fooling themselves, and that includes Bill himself.

Hanging on past an age where any coach or manager has ever even approached the success of their younger years and taking on even more duties and responsibilities is not a recipe for success. It’s a recipe for mediocrity which is just more of what we’ve seen now for 3 seasons.

Bill is a football genius, and a genius is like a boxer with a great hook in always having a puncher’s chance. But, to expect him, as so many here do, to have the same focus, desire and judgement he had as a younger man is more an exercise in wishful thinking than reasonable expectation.

I just feel this year is gonna be a stinker. Please do not trade away any future 2023 draft picks . We are gonna get the highest draft picks in decades possibly 12-13 .

With no OC and the bend dont break defense and very limited playmakers, there is only so much we can move. I want to be optimistic but just feel things will take turn for the worse before it gets better .

Based on this thinking why should we even play any games next season? It’s only February!

Mayo said Bill is as sharp as he’s ever been.

To help mac get better.. and maybe build a new lb Corps..

Don’t we have them on the roster already?

Didn’t we have a bunch of linebackers on injured reserved last season?

We don't even know whom the Pats will draft, which free agents they will sign, and the final makeup of the coaching staff, let alone what the progress of the rookies in their second season will be. A bit too early for pessimism.

No I never laughed at fans who thought making the playoffs was better than not making the playoffs.
Why are you so emotional?
I or any other fan, have absolutely zero control over what the team does. How can a fan be accused of “settling”? They have no impact on anything so how did they “settle”?
Making the playoffs 2 out of 3 seasons is not “haven’t done squat”.
I’m sorry that you seem to feel your manhood is tied to whether you “settle” for what someone else does that you have zero impact on and you think it makes you better than other people because you get angry about it.
I think you get the idea.
Patriots fans, Boston fans are emotional....errr PASSIONATE in general LoL!!

There's still a quantity issue, because they're not going to lose McDaniels, Hardegree, and Fears while only adding Judge. I'm sure it wouldn't be the most popular move, but they could fill most of those spots from Judge's Giants staff.

Jerry Schuplinski: Could slide right into the spot Hardegree opened up, given that he previously held that position
Freddie Kitchens: He's not going to be the head coach, so don't freak out. Has experience calling plays and also coaching QBs, RBs, and TEs
Burton Burns: Was Saban's RB coach for a decade, and is close with Damien Harris (he could also just retire)

Sounds like an excuse for being over the top wrong.

My guess is this.
Lombardi moves to QB coach and de facto OC. Replacing McDaniels. They hire an asst qb coach replacing Hardegree.
Judge takes WRs replacing Lombardi.
Sunsieri moves up from asst RB coach to RB coach and a new asst is brought in.

It also possible that Troy brown takes the WRs and Judge floats between all offensive groups and special teams.

The assistants graduate and the quantity is handle with new assistant position coaches.

So having a 15 years expirience oc or not it is just the same. Good to know ...

Between 2016 and 2020 the teams that spent the most in FAcy had an avg of 5.4 more wins that year, but reverted to 5.2 more losses the 2nd year.

Since the Pats only had 3 more wins (despite setting a record in FAcy spending), they're liable to lose only 3 more games this season. So it won't be that bad. Maybe a 14-15 pick.

I just don’t see a de facto OC Lombardi giving direction to a WR coach Judge.

I'll bet you $1000 this doesn't happen.
