First off, let me say you make a lot of sense, and are logical in your approach when dealing with next years draft. Your right.
But, in our fans point of view we love football games. I don't think there would be a higher TV rated game than Patriots VS Saints in the Super Bowl.
Brady and the Patriots going for their 4th ring VS Brees and the Saints after knocking off P. Manning and the Colts,
going for the #1 team of the decade and Trying to beat the best.
Plus we both know we a good fans of the game and would have a blast.
hmm.. and the added sting to your respected rival, the Colts, is the 2 teams they hate the most right now, would be fighting for a championship in Lucas Oil Stadium
The only 2 teams, none of them will root for. Its almost poetic to me,lol
I don't think it matters much which two teams make it to the SB, it being the superbowl means big ratings.
I started rooting for the Saints (when such rooting didn't interfere with the NEP) starting in 2005 during the 2nd MNF game of the season when the "home team" was booed and had trash thrown at them from the stands. I was particularly disturbed by this after seeing the welcome the Saints got from the Panthers fans the week before and very warm welcome the Yankees got in Fenway during the first Yankee @ Red Sox game after 9/11. I continued to root for you thru 2009, but now that you won the SB, I no longer feel the need to continue to root for ya.
Actually now that I think about it I really wouldn't mind seeing Carolina in the big dance. The warm reception they gave you guys in 2005 for me says they are classy fan base. Also I don't know very many Carolina fans but all the panther fans I do know are really nice people.
