Who to root for ...week 3

First off, let me say you make a lot of sense, and are logical in your approach when dealing with next years draft. Your right.
But, in our fans point of view we love football games. I don't think there would be a higher TV rated game than Patriots VS Saints in the Super Bowl.
Brady and the Patriots going for their 4th ring VS Brees and the Saints after knocking off P. Manning and the Colts,
going for the #1 team of the decade and Trying to beat the best.
Plus we both know we a good fans of the game and would have a blast.

hmm.. and the added sting to your respected rival, the Colts, is the 2 teams they hate the most right now, would be fighting for a championship in Lucas Oil Stadium
The only 2 teams, none of them will root for. Its almost poetic to me,lol

I don't think it matters much which two teams make it to the SB, it being the superbowl means big ratings.

I started rooting for the Saints (when such rooting didn't interfere with the NEP) starting in 2005 during the 2nd MNF game of the season when the "home team" was booed and had trash thrown at them from the stands. I was particularly disturbed by this after seeing the welcome the Saints got from the Panthers fans the week before and very warm welcome the Yankees got in Fenway during the first Yankee @ Red Sox game after 9/11. I continued to root for you thru 2009, but now that you won the SB, I no longer feel the need to continue to root for ya.

Actually now that I think about it I really wouldn't mind seeing Carolina in the big dance. The warm reception they gave you guys in 2005 for me says they are classy fan base. Also I don't know very many Carolina fans but all the panther fans I do know are really nice people.

As huge a ratings hit Pats-Saints would be, Pats-Packers would be even bigger, IMHO.

If the Pats make the Super Bowl make no mistake it's a road game for them vs anybody including the Saints. The Indy fans hate the Pats more than Patriots fans hate the Colts and that's saying something.

Completely agree, We were pretty shocked, thought they might leave us alone that year, but used to the not so warm welcomes and making fun of the Saints, becomes habit after 30 years. Carolina was a shocker too, we didn't expect to be greeted well, and they were so kind. I remember being embarrassed when they stood up and clapped. We won, that game, and they were so gracious about it. They are good fans. We have are differences but Saints and Panther fans get along very well. ITs the falcon fans , we have a problem with. We just don't understand their constant disrespect of other teams, and fans. They even egged the Greenbay bus, and some fans in the playoffs, we just don't get them.
We rooted for the Panthers when they played you sorry, we don't have a problem with them and wanted the NFC south to win.

The word "who" in the title of this thread is erroneously inflected in the nominative case, rather than in its correct form, the accusative "whom."

Carry on.

Yeah, well, don't split the verb with the adverb.

I think the guy who slammed my grammar got slammed on a point of grammar. But I have no freaking idea what the heck is being talked about.

I believe it should be rewritten thus: "But what the heck is being talked about, I have no freaking idea."

I do believe that there is a very real chance tomorrow for the Colts to beat Pittsburg. :rocker:

No fairs if you're predicting that space aliens will land and decimate the Squealers

I'll simplify things for everyone. Root for the Pats and anyone who plays the Jets. The rest doesn't matter. Who cares who we play in the SB!

Unless Peyton Manning is playing and wearing the huge neck roll padding that Grogan did in the 70s but to cover the entire front of the neck as well......then,uh,no chance

I dunno. I just have this feeling that the Squeelers are in for a trap game here. You are most likely correct, but I still sense a win for Indy tomorrow.

IMO turnovers are the only way I see Pittsburgh losing.....this is a mismatch otherwise.

Thanks for putting this together. I look forward to and read it every week, but I don't often comment. Just wanted to put my positive thoughts out there.

What he said.

Chiefs, Saints, Dolphins, Bills, Rams, and the Jets.

Giants (1-1) at Eagles (1-1) 1:00PM ET

NE has the Eagles 7th round pick. Yeah, big whoopie not the same as the deal with the Saints or Oakland. But it is the only rational reason to pick one team over the other. Of course if you hate the Giants root for the Eagles.

Another, admittedly petty, reason to root for the Giants- Asante Samuel should never get another chance hold on to an interception at a Super Bowl.

Hey, I said it was petty.

Hey...didn't you steal the idea for this thread from PatsFans.com?

Never mind the grammatical errors...you should be ashamed of yourself.
