BB can go Gordon Ramsey on Kraft and tell him to shove his kitchen up his arse.
Then it might be time to move on from BB.

Kraft is still the owner.

There's only so far sticking 'with the boys' will get you.

It's an outdated type of thinking that has you missing the playoffs in the past 2 out of 3 seasons.

Much as Kraft might respect BB, he is still an owner who needs results. Playoffs brings revenue, brings profits, affects the bottom line.

BB's 'old boy's club' experiment FAILED MASSIVELY this season with Patricia at OC and Joe Judge as QB coach.

Now that hiring is open for new coaches, he has no excuses. Hire some qualified coaches for OC, QB Coach, OL, and ST. There needs to be a house-cleaning if this team is going to move forward. We had massive special teams failures against Buffalo, giving up TWO kick return TDs, and the usual sputtering at the end of the game by the offense. This will NOT STAND!

BB either makes changes or falls on the sword for the sake of Matt Patricia and Joe Judge. I don't think he's dumb enough to do the latter.

Sean McVay wants out of LA. He can either waste his time with some other worthless franchise and be irrelevant with only 1 ring for the rest of his career, or he can be the next Patriots OC and be the missing piece for a SB caliber team. Then, when Belichick retires after winning 3 more SB rings, McVay can take over as the next head coach of this prestigious franchise.

Let's see how intelligent this guy is this offseason.

if McVay was really after a perennial SB contender he wouldnt have hosed his current team with picks and cap for a SB and now want out when a rebuild is to be done . No thanks.

Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft will teach him the Patriot Way.

Pats are not going go sign and announce an OC. The best we can hope for is that some guy starts to call the plays in camp and we figure out who the OC is its an offensive coach and not matt p. Bb might even make an agreement with kraft to pursue with matt p or joe judge and give him one yr or he will walk away but i doubt they have that sort of relationship.
I personally am almost 100% sure it wont be BoB. its a narrative pushed by the media to later double back and either criticize for not hiring him earlier and admiting mistake of matty p if he comes or criticize pats for not hiring BoB now after this yrs disaster. Dont think pats are in on BoB.

I want BB on as coach with an OC from the Shanahan tree that has the full title. Let Bill focus on continuing to improve the defense and fixing STs. Changing the offense again might take 2 years to set with Mac so I suppose it's a risk but continuing down this path again would just delay a change next year. You can't keep Patricia, you just can't.

Not really relevant for OC purposes (he already went back to Kentucky), but lateral moves are interesting, especially QB coach Zac Robinson.

I really don't understand any of this.

Makes no sense to me.

Yes, that's how Belichick thinks anyway. He will always adjust to attack weak points and account for our own. This just seems like normal stuff that applies to everyone.

The 2nd half about Pederson and Lawrence? It's the same as the first paragraph. What's the distinction? It's the same thing. Attack weaknesses, play to strengths. We don't even know what the future holds for Lawrence. But we do know Mac did indeed have a say in the development of the offense, but there's no way to account for someone with slow reads, slow to scan the field. It's not like you can then develop an offense that avoids that glaring weakness.

I just think play design was bad, the nitty gritty details, but to say there it was only designed to counter defenses?!! I MEAN, THAT'S FOOTBALL. THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO. (Sorry for the Caps).

You are talking about Belichick as if he did things like he always have done. He didn't. Remember the good ole days where Belichick always took away what the other teams do best? He didn't do that this year (See Justin Jefferson and Stephan Diggs).

And for a guy who supposedly had a say in the offense, he openly hated the offense from training camp on. He was criticizing the offense from the beginning. And I am sure he was not on board with an offense where they took away his strongest asset - his mind and exploited his weaknesses. He little ability to call audibles. He was very good with play action last year and this offense called very little play action going into this year and when they did it was out of shotgun. I don't buy that Jones had very much say in the offense at all.

Belichick was not on the field guarding Diggs. Diggs was doubled on that bomb. But he went by the underneath guy and then burned J Jones. Your'e saying you want a guy short, a guy running with him, and a guy deep?

Belichick has always adjusted gameplans based on the opposing D. That's how he operates. And also, he has also assessed his own players limitations, preferring to put them in positions where they could optimize what they did well, while np\ot asking them to do things they couldn't (ie. hiding their weaknesses).

I mean, isn't Pedersen the guy who brought Wentz along, only to watch him implode? Isn't he also the guy who brought Jalen Hurts along, only to watch him take off when Pedersen left. I don't know who Reiss is talking to, but what he said made no sense. Maybe he misunderstood.

BOB seems like a dream after this year, but I never like him when he's actually coaching. I think he's an arrogant hot-head.
Klifford is only mentioned because of gross overratings, and again, we're so desperate. But I don't think he's a hard worker, I think he likes the fame.
I don't think there's any obvious great fit. But, that said, anyone who's an actual OC should be able to produce much more than we saw this year. I'm just hoping my worse nightmare doesn't come true - and BB announces he's sticking with MP.

Oh, he won't announce anything. We'll all find out when they release the official team roster and coaching staff. Kind of like how we found out Matt and Judge's roles this past year.

Mark Wahlberg’s teddy bear?

BOB would commit for 2 years as he always does, and then (if he does well) try for HC openings (including at NE.

I would opt for Chad O'Shea. He has history with the system.
Except they didnt end on good terms. Plus i am bit confused if BB wants to keep the same system or move to a new one like he tried this year.

i wont be surprised if BB announces himself as the person calling plays and just doesnt announce anything or anyone else.

I'll be surprised if he makes any kind of announcement at all.

I don't think BobK would go for that.

listen to the Patriots Unfiltered episode from today because Lazar is spot on: « the coach think the QB is the problem »

Maybe you will learn something.
