Christian Fauria, who knows Kliff, doesn't think he'll want to come to NE.
he points out Klingsbury is wealthy. Why would he take a demotion to work under BB?? What person in their right mind would do this? He is getting paid by AZ big bucks through 2027 and has already made a ton of money.

I am not the biggest fan of Bill personality and grumpy attitude but I think he is a smart coach. So I can’t believe that Bill decided in the offseason to change the system to screw Mac Jones.

For one we don’t know what the new system really is. I don’t think it is that much different from last year. I still think it’s was supposed to be a simpler version of the EP system.

My guess is after the departure of Josh, BOB was probably the only option that could have coached the old system. Bill wouldn’t screw Saban or BOB didn’t to leave Saban I don’t know but I think Bill plan A didn’t happen and he didn’t want to hire an OC with a completely different system so he hired Patricia back thinking that in simplifying the system it could work. In the end it didn’t.

Edit; I also think Bill thought Mac was a smart guy and could take it.
I agree that that's probably what happened, but the question now is whether he goes and gets O'Brien now (since it appears O'Brien is now up for grabs) or wants to continue modifying on the system and thus is open to other options at OC.

I want BoB just to give us one more shot at running a good 2TE offense. I really think the potential is there with Henry and Smith if we could just find a way to incorporate both players more.

People take demotions all the time. Phat Matt and Judge took demotions to come work for the Pats. They didn't go on to other head coaching jobs.

Or Drafted a better Rookie WR who would have made some sort of impact Watson @ 29 or Pickens over Boney T in the Second.

I don't think any of the WRs they would have drafted would have done well in the system that Patricia ran. I don't think Thornton's biggest issues this year was talent. I think it was coaching. The guy showed he could get open.

i think people are missing the point that why would BoB want to come back here? he will have plenty of options and someone will give him a HC option as well.
And people who want to move on from mac , they are okay with patricia's playcalling and him as OC ?

I think landing Obrein or Kliff has to come with the guarantee and timeline that when BB hangs up his whistle they are guaranteed the HC job.
Especially with Obrein.

Not just josh , they lost QB coach, WR coach, Dante, fears, ernie. The coaching staff was raided last yr. We only discuss josh . They had to replace a lot of parts on the offensive coaching staff.

And we were a bad Team and the end who can't beat good Teams. Fans are not completely clueless Mac Jones deficiencies were glaring and might not be correctable. I don't think a OC makes a difference in his game his mechanics are just bad.
Seeing how they lost 6 of their last 9 they were a bad team in the 2nd 1/2 no question.

I think an OC and an experienced Qb coach can absolutely help with mechanics and fundamentals. It's up to the player to accept that coaching.

I remember Parcells saying they wanted Bledsoe to release "higher" as opposed to the sidearm shot put throwing motion. He did it a little in 1994 and 1995 but really never took.

Not disagreeing there BB should be ashamed what a mockery of authority.

I think The Tenn job is more enticing than the pats Jin since Vrabel cleaned house on offense.
Giving Obrein full autonomy of his staff and philosophies.
Vs here he may have Matt or Joe putting in their two cents in BBs ear.

I agree. I think Bill thought Mac could handle the changes. I think Bill thought Fat Matt could keep the ship on course.

Nope.

Didn't Mac work with a QB Coach last Offseason Tom House I think?? Did he steal Mac's money??

What are BOB's other options? I don't think he's getting a HC job in the NFL this year. That means he needs to go be an OC somewhere that he'll get noticed. He might be up for the job for the Titans, which is a mess and has no QB. He might be up for the job in Las Vegas, where he'll be micromanaged by McD and currently has no QB. Also, both of those head coaches are already on shaky ground, so it could be a season and then he's looking for another job.

I have no idea what he thinks of Mac, but NE probably provides the best job security and if he turns the ship around here, he'll draw the most attention for potentially getting a HC job.

Honestly I won't be mad if we bring in anyone who has called plays before because no matter what it will be better than Patricia but I would really like to bring in an outsider with no real ties here.

OL needs help with mechanics and fundamentals too. This is where Scar was at hist best, taking a martial arts master's approach to them.

Bledsoe used to frustrate the heck out of me when I contrasted his approach to off-season as compared to his contemporary, Bird. Bird would isolate a weak spot in his game and work it like crazy off-season, coming back even better. Bledsoe would just hightail it to the mountains and chilled until camp started up again. If he had emulated Bird he could have been awesome.

Kraft can't really guarantee it due to the league rules but he can make some level of assurances as far as prioritization. But really, any OC who comes here now has to know Bill only has a few years left at most, so there's that chance.

Throwing mechanics and running an offense are two different things.

It's like a golf swing....you can look like Tiger Woods on the range but on the course look like Ickey Woods.

Throwing mechanics?? How many throws did we see off his back foot?? Too many and people are blaming Fat Matt Hmmmmm. I think Fat Matt deserves another year as OC (((ducks out of the way)).
