Hoyer has a career sub 60% comp%, sub 6.00 any/a, hasn't won a game since 2016. If that's the best option you're playing for #1 pick with him. Which really isn't a bad thing. Anyone want to have a party over 7-8 wins?
I mean I had them at only 6-7 wins this year anyway

Zappe

See what you got. The NFL has no film on him so you have that going for you. Thats worth a couple of wins.

My hope (as the ever optimistic fan) is that he could come out like Geno Smith did this year so far, as they have very similar career stats: win% as a starter (41% for Hoyer and 38% for Geno), completion % (59.3% for Hoyer and 58.8% for Geno coming into the year), ANY/A (5.93 for Hoyer and 4.82 for Geno including this year's numbers).

Oh how the mighty have fallen.
When we are talking about hoping for Geno Smith like results.
God help us all.

I hear ya. Geno is like 5-6 years younger though and Hoyer has been terrible recently. Like Geno looked ok last year while Hoyer looks bad bad in live action.

If he had shown anything recently, maybe but we've seen him look putrid on decent teams recently. He's like 1/18 his last couple starts.

Zappe. You drafted him for a reason.

Put in Zappe for the obvious reasons.

I mean, Geno currently has a 79% Comp rate with 4TDs and 1 INT this season - wouldn't you want those results from your backup QB? (I get your point though - No doubt, he's def gonna come back to earth, and it's not like it's helping the team win as they're 1-1 looking at going 1-2).

I think there’s no way it isn’t Hoyer next week. You’re still waiting to see the results of the tests for Mac so gotta play it safe. Once you know and have a timetable, you can start to plan things out. If Mac has a timetable of 5-6 week return then you can ride it out with Hoyer, but if Mac has a longer timetable than that or if he’s done for the year, there’s not much reason not to go with the rookie. Going 7-10 is no man’s land, it’s better to lose more games for discovery purposes and also get a higher pick.

It will be Hoyer until Zappe beats him out.

Hoyer has been terrible recently.
I don't know man - he was 9-11 (81.8%) with a 149.1 rating last year. Finally got Jakobi his 1st TD. Threw a nice TD pass to Thornton in preseason, with a 72% comp overall this preseason. I'm giving him a mulligan for the KC game, as that was a Covid sh*t show, plus the GOAT had a similar brain fart during that season for the Bucs.

Can't argue with 11 straight losses as a starter (and 1-15 - or more like 1-18 like you said), though.

Zappe, but it’ll unfortunately be Hoyer.

Hoyer looked good for 90% of that KC game despite the really screwed up travel situation and all of that. He stuck to the plan and made good throws. It was the 10% of the game where he totally screwed up that actually lost them the game.

At a certain point, we gotta stop acting like Patricia is 100% of the problem.

Patricia isn't the reason Mac threw those interceptions.

Patricia is the problem. The offensive scheme is horrible. There is no pre snap movement. They ran a play on 4 - 1 behind the down line.

He stinks, but today? The pkaycalling was actually decent.

Execution was more of a problem today - tue Algholor fumble, the 2 interceptions, etc.
