With one more meaningful pre-season game left, it seems a good time for speculation.

RB Gillislie
LT Solder
LT Garcia
LT Waddle
TE Lengel

DE Rivers (out for season)
DE Wise
LB McCellan
LB Hightower (PUP for now)

ST Slater
ST King
======================
RB Daniels
DE Davis
WR Hollister
S Travis
OL Jelks (NFI)

For this group there are 2 meaningful preseason games left.

Let's hope HT is ready for game 1...... What's Solder's current status..need him healthy for regular season.....Slater and Lengel on PUP wouldn't be a disaster.....

Hightower is the only play eligible for the PUP list.

Two others could be out on IR and returned later.

My guess:

Ready for season:
RB Gillislie
LT Solder
DE Wise
LB McCellan
ST King

IR
LT Garcia
ST Slater

Practice Squad:
RB Daniels
S Travis

Cut (maybe with settlement)
DE Davis
WR Hollister
OL Jelks (NFI)
TE Lengel
LT Waddle

LB Hightower - Don't know
DE Rivers (out for season)

Yeah I had assumed they were just taking it slow with High. Everyone knows what he's capable of and he's always nicked up. I assume the same of Slater, really.

Gillislee is the most intriguing of the bunch. Hamstrings can linger.

To update and speculate from the original post:

RB Gillislee - hamstring injuries can take a while to heal. No need to rush him back, okay if he misses a few September games. Was present at 8/22 practice.
LT Solder - back at practice on 8/22; presumably will start week 1 vs KC.
OT Garcia - still out; starts season as game day inactive?
OT Waddle - back on field 8/22; probably will not make 53-man roster unless Garcia goes on IR.
TE Lengel - had off season surgery on finger. May have had a setback to that recovery. Will probably be waived/injured; was not going to make 53-man roster at this point as TE3 over both O'Shaugnessy and Hollister.

DE Rivers - will be placed on IR when 53-man roster is announced.
DE Wise - in full pads 8/22, but departed to a different field when drills started. I would expect him to be available for week 1.
LB McClellin - absent from practice 8/22; hopefully ready to go week 1.
LB Hightower - back on field 8/22; should be fine for week 1.

ST Slater - could be a game day inactive and miss first few games if necessary.
ST King - in red non-contact jersey 8/22; should be okay for week 1.

======================

RB Daniels - missed Houston game with unknown ailment. Was not listed as absent from 8/22 practice. Never destined for anything more than scout team work this season.
DE Davis - with such a late start (signed 8/11), was probably destined to the PS from the start. Seen at practice but in shorts on 8/22.
WR Hollister - maybe he has a future as a ST player, but he had no chance at cracking the 53-man roster in week 1.
S Travis - the only thing I recall about him is when he crashed into Justin Coleman, leaving Bruce Ellington wide open for Houston.
OL Jelks (NFI) - on field but in shorts 8/22.

Other than wondering about Slater, Gillislie and Garcia, this is all good news.

When it comes to hamstring injuries I would prefer to wait and not rush a player back but this is welcome news.

After hamstring injury, Mike Gillislee returns as '100 percent' participant at practice

For the first time since early in training camp, new running back Mike Gillislee, who's been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury, was a full participant in Tuesday's practice. Afterwards, he said he was "100 percent everything."

"It feels great," Gillislee said. "I went out there and I think I missed a step because I was studying and I took visual reps each and every day. I studied, and I was able to go out there today and fly around a little bit."
