Grab Wilson, Lance or Jones and a steady bridge guy to ease the new guy in.... easy.

The draft never plays out like people predict.

Talk about unpredictable, radio guys are talking about Jacksonville taking fields and leaving Lawrence for the Jets!

The only thing I can predict for sure is Lawrence will go #1... or someone F-d up royally.

have you seen urban Meyers track record for producing pro quarterbacks? Taking fields over Lawrence is par for the course for Meyers!

Some guys can only coach in college. Nick Saban chose Daunte Culpepper over Drew Brees and his pro coaching career was fleeting.

meyers lack of pro experience could lead him to do something stupid like pass on Lawrence for fields.

Can you overdraft a QB? Either they have the tools to be great or they don’t. If they do and you think they’ll be great, take them as early as you can, no matter what draftniks say. If they don’t, don’t draft them at all.

BB has said that if they knew how good Brady was going to be, he would have taken Brady in the first round.
This is where i'm at too. If they think Jones can be successful in their system then don't overthink it

Not entirely true. Saban received certain medical info regarding Brees’ shoulder injury. Allegedly, Saban was told Brees’ shoulder would never fully heal; AND he didn’t pass the physical. Either way, that set MIA back for years..but context is key.

Its easy for alot of these college coaches when the "best NFL prospects" play on their team because of their reputation. You end up with almost probowl roster. Not as easy when you get to the NFL and have to deal with the salary cap and most teams having the same caliber guys.

its the same in the NBA. some of these coaches never translate because its easy when you recruit NBA calibar guys every year.

Had to be quite upsetting for OSU & U of FL to have to settle for NCAA Championship trophies

Lol. I like good QBs on my team much better than awful QBs especially ones that people insist must be good - for no reason other than just because.

Tom Brady will never happen again folks. Ever. Stop expecting it, it ain’t gonna happen. Period. 4th round QBs are what they are. If Pick Six Stidham was good or even had a chance to be good he would have been picked a lot sooner and certainly would have been starting by now over a guy who can’t throw and a journeyman backup.
Yep. You need a parachute for the drop from Brady to Cam.

I would fault him for thinking Daunte Culpepper was the man more than questioning Brees shoulder... lets face it, back then being a short QB was "an issue." Brees being short and Culpepper being big and tall played into that decision as much as anything.

I agree; though they did offer Brees a contract first.

The 9ers will be laughing all the way to the draft if they somehow managed to get their 2nd round pick back for patient Jimmy, yikes.
It was meant to be a rental anyway. Thanks for holding him for us.
