When will Gordon be in shape?

Gordon is not Randy Moss. He's playing fairly well right now, but he and Brady might need a year to get in synch. Personally if he catches some passes and doesn't create an off-the-field problem for the team, I'll count that as a win.

Put it this way -- it says something about the progress we've made with Gordon that fans' biggest beef with Gordon isn't some off the field disaster or substance abuse problem that takes him off the field entirely, or even his on the field attitude, but the fact that he's got his head down, playing a team game, but only pretty good rather than elite. That's a hell of a lot of hurdles that Mr. Gordon has cleared to get to that point, and a huge amount of personal growth and progress after only a few months.

He's actually been pretty good. In NE, he's played 10 games and has 39 receptions for 701 yards (18 YPC) and 3 TDs. Extrapolated over the entire season:

~ 62 catches for 1122 yards and 5 TDs. Give him an offseason to get up to speed, like Moss did (I know he missed time with a hamstring, but he at least learned playbook), and I think Gordon would probably be a similar category of production, other than TD numbers.

Hes our leader in recieving yards this year. Imagine if someone woulda told you that in August, or before edelmans suspension

Gordon has been terrific, period. He looked slow to me early on but I thought he looked pretty fast this past week, so whether it was a "get in shape" issue or a "let the injury get better" issue, I don't know, but he looks like a top flight athlete. His hands are amazing. He's been everything I've hoped for and more.
