That's an underplayed angle, that had we taken McConkey and won 2 more games, Mayo might still be coach, plus we'd have been picking 11th or 12th and outside the LT range. So we had to endure the pain to get to this point in our recovery.

Some posters have 4 UDFAs making the 53 man roster. Maybe 2 if Dippre beats out Bell plus Larison if we carry 4 RBs? We will see. Injuries happen so stranger things have happened.

Would it really be strange though? The Chism talk is nonsense but others do have a clear path:

- TE3 is manned by the prior regime's 7th rounder.

- The lone FB in the the 90 is an UDFA.

- RB4 is manned by a career practice squadder, just one injury or "surprise" cut from being RB3.

- Current QB3 is an UDFA.

- Our CB5 competition is wide open.

Those are very realistic potential pathways to the 53. Not saying I expect 4-5 UDFAs but a couple would not be a surprise. More a reflection of how the back end of the roster stands than anything else.

He wasn't just super-quick and shifty but was explosive. Meaning he could hit top speed very quickly which means he was actually running faster in short bursts than dbs who rhd much faster 40 times.
A 40 is not even a good measurable for most football players. Almost everything you do is done in much shorter distances than 40 yds.
In general, shorter guys usually accelerate much quicker than taller guys.
Edelman was also very tough to tackle because he was strong as a bull.

I agree with that. Quickness and explosion are different than speed. Chism III is very quick, less quick than Edelman but quicker than Welker. Usually people look at broad jump, vertical, 3-cone, and short shuttle to gauge explosion. The 10, 20, and 40 yard dash indicate speed.

Chism has the build and scores to match a very quick slot reciever, but his 40 yard run was surprisingly slow, like all-time low for his body type. So Chism is at the extremes, really quick and really slow. We will see if player can depend solely on quickness in the NFL while being so slow. Edelman, for example, was much quicker and much faster than Chism III, so that comparison is not valid. Comparisons to Welker are valid, so maybe Chism III will be very productive. He is a strong guy so I think he will hold up OK. It is a very interesting skill type.
