Whats with the persecution complex here?

I probably should have left my own views out of it.

The main thing is that the feeling I get on this board lately is one of the Patriots and their fans against the big bad world who are out to get us.

Thats just pathetic for fans of a team thats 11-2.

And the site has become media driven too it seems. I thought the idea of a forum was free thought not media led drivel.

did you miss Westhoff and HIS comments when asked about Tripgate...no one is "IMAGINING" anything...you're blind if you can't see it

Look, folks, if you see a thread that isn't your cup of tea, just go to another thread that you like better.

It's a buffet - - no one's forcing anyone to eat the broccoli.

The easiest way to make a thread is to find an article first and make one linking to it. I personally like that I can refresh the forum and see if someone has written something new about the team quickly.

If you feel like there aren't enough "free love thought" threads on the forum, why don't you come up with some thought free thoughtful free threads to post?

Unless that's what you consider this thread?

As far as the "new england vs. everyone else" mentality, if you think this is a new development, you must be new here. As long as Belichick is the coach, Brady is the quarterback, and/or no one has a time machine to smack Bill upside the head before Week 1, 2007, it's probably not going away anytime soon.

Seriously everytime I come on here its like there are loads of threads about negative stuff.

Why post them here and give coverage to those people? You do realise that by posting something like that here with a link that people are going to click it, the site is getting more hits and that writer is more successful.

You should really be concentrating on the Green Bay game and any news concerning it. You should be posting articles that are saying positive things about the Patriots. That way the good writers are getting plenty of extra people visiting their page and being more successful than the douche who refuses to give credit to the Patriots at this stage of the season.

Sorry for starting a new thread for this but I think it needs to be said out loud.
I don't have a persecution complex.. but if you keep looking at me like that I'll smack you right in the mouth.

a little edification on the matter...

I figured we needed a class system.

The All Patriots Hater Team or "Hatriot Lovers" for short.

President: Tom Jackson
(This position is reserved for the biggest jack@$$ of them all. Someone who sits front and center with their Patriots hate on full time display. This is public enemy #1. The guy that even the most reasonable of Patriots fans would like to clock in the face. I'm talking about one of those beautiful solid punches where you can literally feel the flesh crumbling underneath your fists).

Vice Prez: Mike Ditka
(This position is reserved for someone who has experienced each of the lower levels and dreams of one day becoming the #1 guy).

Secretary: Ron Borges
(This position is reserved for a writer. It should be somebody with a long history of hating on the Patriots. Someone who takes extreme measures to go out of their way to invent criticisms of the Patriots).

Treasurer: Don Shula
(This position is reserved for someone who feels that he has something to lose by the Patriots success. He feels threatened and will do anything to protect his assets).

Beer B!tch: Bill Plashkie
(This spot is reserved for those clowns on "Around the Horn" which is arguably the worst tv show ever aired. Plashkie is the one idiot that all the other idiots would privately describe as the biggest idiot).

Village Idiot: Gregg Easterbrook
(This spot is similar to beer b!tch but even less desirable. This person possesses no positive value what-so-ever to society. His levels of stupidity could be dangerous if not for the fact that he's 100% completely irrelevant. He's also the member on this list most likely to have been castrated at some point in his life).

Da Jocks:
Steve Young
- We Hate him.
Merrill Hoge - Ehh...Whatever.
Jerome Bettis - The bus always broke down in New England. Tough to hate that. He's welcome to leave the Steelers stranded all he wants.
Mark Schlereth - Sometimes rational, sometimes hater. Jury is still out on him
Mercury Morris - '72 Dolphins not even one of the Top Ten Greatest Teams. Can you dig it?
Fran Tarkenton - Fran Tarkenton meet Jim Kelly. Jim Kelly meet Fran Tarkenton.

Da Dumb Jocks:
Marshall Faulk
This guy wants to be Prez one day. Patriots fans dream of assinations.
Dan Marino The quintessential dumb jock
Emmitt Smith He's like Tweeky from Buck Rogers. "Ubba Ubba Ubba Sure thing Buck."
Jason Sehorn Who cares.

The Dumb Crowd:
Paul Zimmerman
- This guy ran for beer b!tch and village idiot and lost both times.
Mike Felger - Was shocked he hadn't replaced Borges yet. Vowed to keep trying.
Gary Myers - Who cares
Mike Green - Must be nice having Daddy set you up with a high paying position despite the fact you have no true value to anyone or anything.
Pete Prisco - Former village idiot has moved up in the world
Rich Eisen - A well disciplined hater. Good for him.

did he miss anyone?

Back in the old days we would drive our own discussions ... now the main page is pretty much a carbon copy of what the mediots want discussed ... works wonders for their page hits.

One of the best posts I've read here in quite some time. I remember when this board was the generator of news, opinion, football knowledge, and media headlines. Not the slave to them. What was written here was pirated by the mediots. Now the mediots dictate the news discussed here. Since my return I post in this forum rarely, though I read it. But its hard. Its filled with puppets reacting to the news stories, with hyperbole and hype and homer trolls puffing up their chests.

I remember and long for a return of the time when folks like Pats 1, and others, gave us the real inside information from the locker room and front office. For a time when we would dissect and breakdown the matchups before a game. When Box and others would give us post game breakdowns of how it went. As much as I respect Reiss, we didn't need him. We were better.

Not so much any more.

Thanks for remembering, Icy, and for posting this best post of the day here.

these threads are still here...Box still breaks down games post event, along with unoriginal,JMT57,Alp...Deus is great at tempering the overhomer responses...we have the pod casts now...sure some good people have moved on like Chris Price but the content you say is lacking IS here if you look for it...what the root of your ennui is you can trace directly to the advent of the tweet. The "inside source" no longer needs an intermediary to give out information, they just post it themselves."Progress".

I do enjoy the post game breakdown threads. The pregame matchup threads get stomped on nowadays tho. NUT and I used to have a lot of fun in them. You were here. You remember. It WAS different then. Deus I know from another place too. I like his swirling bewbies. They cant be his avie here. But he has become angrier too and now acts like a policeman, as does Andy.

As far as the "Tweet" goes. Most tweets are second hand. Unless they come from the locker room itself and this locker room pretty much does not do that. We still need our sources. But they dried up. Again its different.

I agree with Patjew and Joker.

If people want to ignore articles that say negative things about the Pats, then go ahead.

But don't censor what others can or cannot access. This isn't North Korea.

It's a big world out there, and too many people in 2010 want to just hibernate in their little corner with their "approved" media outlets that reinforce their own view of the world. No one learns anything by sitting in the "amen corner" and restricting oneself to the approved sermons.

If you don't want to read it, dont. But don't tell others what they can or can't read.

We thank you for your frank and honest discussion of Dear Leader's favored posting policy, Schmessy, and your heartfelt fraternal expression of your heroic Patriot-ism. All can take a lesson from your longstanding and farsighted leadership in the glorious struggle for Patriots fandom.

Some guys are coming.

Just a few suggestions:
-Read what you want to read.
-Let the mods handle it.
-It's Ian's site, let him manage it the way he wants and/or stuff a
suggestion in the suggestion box.
-Start your own Patriots message board for the warm and fuzzy crowd.
