What's the Market for Josh Gordon?

The Browns aren't trading Gordon. They were dangling him when he was just a very good WR with one strike away from a year long or longer suspension. Since the trade deadline, he has shown the potential of being an elite, game changing WR that you can build the offense around.

I don't think they will trade him now. His value and potential changed dramatically since the trade deadline.

I totally agree with that statement. If you look at that team (if they retain their UFA) –
  • Gordon
  • Cameron
  • Harden
  • Ward
  • Thomas
  • Mack
  • Bryant
  • Taylor
  • Sheard
  • Kruger
  • Little
  • Gibson
  • Rubin
That talent with 5 picks in the first 3 rounds is promising. I actually thought it was a good opportunity for McDaniels, but the front office and ownership group is a disaster so I understand him stepping out.

Don't forget Mingo. That would be a great opportunity for a coach to step into if it wasn't for the ownership.

There's no reason that they will trade him now.

They are winning the AFC North if they get Manziel or Bridgewater.

Considering the fact that Hoyer was 3-0 before the ACL tear and had them in first place 5 or 6 weeks into the season, I don't doubt what you say.

I'm not as sure about winning the division, but I could certainly see something like the Lions turnaround from a couple/few yrs ago, or possibly even the current Miami Dolphins. I think they could certainly compete for a WC spot.

I don't see why they wouldn't want a 1st round pick for him, possibly even more.

If you knew without any doubt that you could keep him out of trouble, would you give up this year's first (29) and a 3rd next year for him?

It's hard to say, due to the fact that we'd be right back at the same point regarding the high cost of a franchise WR and a franchise QB for longer term deals. I think that would be prohibitive as it pertains to the cap management, especially if you're going to give up a 1st round pick.

He still has two years on his rookie deal and the contracts of Mankins/Wilfork will be expired by then.

That would be one unstoppable offense with Vereen out of the backfield, Gronk, Gordon and Dobson on the outside and Edelman/Boyce/Amendola working the slot.
