This is a very normal list of free agents; and, we have lots of cap room. For me, I presume that Jackson will be on the team. At very worst, we will have a 1st round pick in compensation is someone decides to pay him a huge contract PLUS giving us a first.

Yes, I would also like to see your bolded players come back. There are NO must signs. The only possible exception is Thuney, who we could franchise. So, for today, my base case is Thuney franchised and Jackson tendered with a top level tag.

I think it likely that we re-sign Wise, Calhoun, Rivers and maybe Byrd.

The main problem on Defense will be at NT. We need to have Guy and Butler back, but we may need to sign replacements.
I would kick the tires on POE

Why would you want Trubisky? He runs great....He got benched in favor of Foles.
He looked damn good against us I think it was 2 seasons ago.
He has all the tools not ready to give up on him.
I don’t believe the Patriots get Lawrence. I like my idea of signing Rosen to the 53 trading for Tru and between them and Stidham someone has to become a good starter.

Breer also says the Texans are willing to listen on anyone other than Watson, Watt, Tunsil, and Howard. Forget the expensive veterans and half-season rentals. The interesting names here are Blacklock, Scharping, and Warring, the first and second year guys who are under contract for 2.5-3.5 more years and would come at a discount, somewhat similar to how Rowe was traded before his second season.

Ross Blacklock: rookie 40th overall pick with 57 games left on his rookie contract, projected to be a slightly undersized gap shooter
Max Scharping: second year 55th overall pick with 17 career starts at guard who may project to RT for the Pats (although he ended up on the Covid list yesterday)
Kahale Warring: second year 86th overall pick, athletic tight end with more trips to IR (2) than games played (1) and offensive snaps (0)

I don't see the Gilmore thread, but if they trade Gilmore for only a 2nd round pick (or worse), it will end any discussion of how horrible of a trade Sanu was last year. Packers, 49ers, Saints, Titans, Chiefs, Bucs should be calling.

I really don't see anybody trading for a G, so Thuney stays until FA begins.

How does "listen on almost anyone" turn into "fire sale"? Every team should listen on almost anyone if the value is right.
Belichick wouldn’t pick up the phone for a conversation about the Brady, Gilmore, Edelman, Gronk, McCourty, Hightower, etc if we were 5-1 at this point and looking towards playoff positioning

My guess a lot have a good chance not being here by this time next week. Be a bunch of 4th and 5th rd picks coming back, maybe a 2 and a couple 3s. I dunno. To me this is the signal that they should have had back in March. Tank. Identify the QB and or planted player to pick up at the top of the draft.

Hope it’s true. Not just because I like the idea of precipitating changes, but also because I think BB is always listening to all possibilities anyways.

I don’t think anyone truly knows. Kleiman certainly doesn’t.

For %#%€%’s sake Breer, did it take all those journalism school years to come up with that blanket statement. Every GM of every professional team will listen on anyone. Acting on it is a different question. The churro guy at the 7-Eleven could have broke that news.

I can't wait for Bill to get a couple of seconds for Gilmore and thuney. Bill could then draft a couple of bums like joejuan Williams, Duke Dawson, Duggar and Ras I dowling

Gilmore to Chicago
For Trubisky and a third?

If Chicago could first trade for Chris Conley and then add him to this trade as the sweetest of sweeteners, I’m in.

Sell everything. Except JC and Jon Jones.

I'd keep all of our elite offensive lineman, they will be invaluable as part of any rebuild, especially for a young QB

I'm holding off on the "lets firesale everyone" until after the Bills game

If the Bills stomp us and we drop 3 games behind them, the season is basically over and its time to seriously start thinking about the future direction of this team post-Tom Brady

Bill Belichick didn’t listen to San Fran when they asked about Brady. So that’s not exactly an accurate take.

I sincerely doubt Andy Reid would listen to offers on Mahomes, Kelce, Hill, or Edwards-Helaire when they are gearing up for a playoff run. You couldn’t gather enough first rounders to pry DK Metcalf from Seattle right now.

If we were 4-2 or 5-1 there is no chance Bill is taking a call on Gilmore as the centerpiece of our defense.
