Re: WHAT!!!! Miami is off the charts stupid

Just visited the Fishy forum on Footballsfuture. I havent been able to get on finheaven but the guys on FF are about to commit suicide! They are going as far as to say Randy ******.

Re: WHAT!!!! Miami is off the charts stupid

Is there anyone who thinks the dolphins take Ginn if we didn't get Welker?

So basically, we created a need for the Dolphins that they filled with the number 9 pick by taking a guy for which we gave them a late 2d.

If I'm right that the Dolphins would not have taken Ginn if they still had Welker, then we are really in nice position. If, 5 years from now, Quinn turns out to be the real deal, we can always gloat about how we helped stick it to them.

Dopes.

Says the Michigan fan...:)

The guy is an NFL ready QB. I am happy, I think Miami screwed up.

No, he is not NFL ready. Teams are passing on him for a reason. I think he'll end up as a serviceable starter, but nothing special.

What are you basing your opinion on?

Re: WHAT!!!! Miami is off the charts stupid

This same thing happened to Roethlisberger.

Historically, many excellent QB's have been picked low and turned out fine...Montana, Marino, Brady...

More high picks have been busts.

Re: WHAT!!!! Miami is off the charts stupid

I guess by acquiring Welker we indirectly screwed Quinn. Oh well :bricks:

On top of it all they select Ginn who will probably get injured every time he gets tackled.

Years of watching him play, and recruiting him to UM. I don't hate ND, and I don't hate Quinn. But, I think the hype was too much for his talent. He doesn't have the intangibles I look for in QBs, and his measurables are average at best. He's the #2 QB in a weak QB draft. I think he can eventually start in the league, but people played up the Weis-Brady-Quinn thing too much. They are different QBs, and Quinn doesn't have what I saw in Matt Leinart, among others.

Re: WHAT!!!! Miami is off the charts stupid

Miami, what a bunch of tools. I'm glad they replaced Welker with a top 10 pick. He He.

Buffalo - not a terrible pick. Still need Defense.

We are still living the dream!

- "Mom, the meatloaf! We want the meatloaf now!"

Now i know why I watch this draft all day...It gives me a chance to laugh at our division rivals in April. What a luxury.

Two hours ago ESPN team praising Quinn to the heavens. Now the truth emerges as Salisbury etc. team up to trash Brady Quinn for not showing up for big games.

Re: WHAT!!!! Miami is off the charts stupid

Are you saying you are a Coach at Michigan?

No. My senior year we were recruiting Quinn as a junior in HS. I spent a lot of time in the summers in the film rooms watching tape, and would watch the recruiting tape, and talk with the recruiting guys. I also worked the summer camp with some other players while we brought in recruits. I never coached in college (though I considered GA positions at MSU and ND.)

Even the biggest Quinn supporter wouldn't call him "NFL ready" so you sound foolish. I thought he was overrated, but apparently, NFL teams weren't fooled by this crappy QB.

I found that hilarious. These guys are great politicians

Obviously Quinn was good in HS, as he was considered a top prospect and a great grab by ND.

To me, he seems mechanically sound and makes good decisions. The team he had around him at ND was mediocre. To downgrade him now is as bad as overvaluing JaMarcus Russell due to his Bowl performance.

He hardly had a mediocre surrounding cast at ND. Darius Walker in the backfield, and Samardzija, McKnight, and Stovall to throw to. The defense was average, but the offense had solid talent.

Also, I've been saying this all year about Quinn. I am hardly downgrading him now. I like the kid. I just think that they hype was not warranted, and he has a long way to go to become a very good QB.

I did want him to come to Michigan.

What are Pat fans basing their opinions of Ginn on?? He was a Heisman candidate, he's probably the fasteset guy in this draft and he is an excellent KR. Miami could make him a CB which he was out of HS and a very good one. He's a dual roll player faster then any player in NE. Miami could also trade him later in the draft, who knows. But Pats fans act like they know so much, none of you spent one second of you lives interviewing the guy or breaking down game film. You listen to mayock and Kiper and believe what they say as if they've never been wrong, you're all acting off what the media speculates. Every player in the draft can be broken down and flaws found....yes, god forbid even who the Pats pick.

What's Miami's weakest side of the ball offense and we only used one pick and it was on an electrifying player. You laugh that we passed on Quinn, we'll we weren't the only ones who passed on Quinn...wake up, all the months of game film and study on him and he's still on the board and the first round is winding down. Tom Brady wasn't taken till the 6th round, Dan Marino next to the last pick in the first round, Joe Montana 3rd round. You people are unreal....if you knew anything about football it would be a shock.

Well, in one sentence you blew your credibility when trying to knock others' lack of football knowledge. "Miami could make him a CB which he was out of HS?" Really? He was a QB in HS as well. Maybe Miami could make him a QB too!

Ginn is fast. No one doubted that. But he's straight-line fast, and has issues with his hands. He's a damn good returner and a good receiver. But he's pretty raw still. A good pick, but probably a bit high at #9.
