What Do You Want?

The prize of the off-season is Ronnie Stanley. No available player will have a greater, more immediate impact. The mission of the off-season should be to make Stanley the highest paid LT in history.

On that note, I'm also trying to lock down Patrick Merkari. He is an instant upgrade at LG or RT, and can can be a high level backup at all OL 5 positions.
it would have to be a HUGE overpay but worth it if we want to protect Maye.

the draft isn't likely the solution this year.

The Vikings have a lot of guys I'd be interested in:

Cam Robinson at LT
Bynum/Smith at S
Aaron Jones at RB
Byron Murphy/Gilmore at CB

Didn't Cam get steamrolled in the playoffs?

I’d love them to get a number one receiver… Metcalf would be ideal. If not draft Tet if he’s the best available and maybe a one year deal with a guy like Kupp. Gives Drake options

I’d love to hit on some FA linemen in both sides and in the draft.

What do we need for the OL:

1) Andrews comes back and is effective at C

2) Obvious need at LT. Biggest need on team, just not sure how to go about fixing. Alaric Jackson or Ronnie Stanley would be great. But will they come here. Kelvin Banks if we trade back a bit or use a 3rd along with our 2nd to move back into the 1st if someone drops.

3) Hope Onwenu returns to form at RG

4) Do we roll with Robinson, Strange and Sow at LG or look for outside help

5) At RT bring in a solid vet like Moses or Skule to compete with Wallace maybe

Josh & Vrabel need to decide between Andrews or Strange at center. Strange will start at either C or LG, he's our best and most mobile IOL. Andrews will be 33 in July and is coming off shoulder surgery early last October, but I think we can assume he'll be ready to go.

There's not much film of Strange at center but I think he'd be very good there and they may decide to make that move now, especially if they're optimistic about Robinson at LG.

Lots of talk about receivers and linemen in this thread and for good reason but I would like to see some upgrades at LB. I think with the way Tennessee approached the defense with Vrabel and our new DC guys like Tavai and maybe even Bentley (who I like) wont be the type of player for the system. If we could find a guy like Luke Kuechly I would be very happy. But thats wishful thinking as those types of players don't come around but once in awhile.

No argument here. We need solid talent at every position of this team (except for Starting QB and a CB #1).

I think you make them move now if Strange does well in the spring. Andrews is a year older and coming off another injury and in recent years he has gotten man handled more frequently. Love the guy and his attitude but its time to move on.

Let me add some more context. Commanders center 27, Chiefs center 25, Eagles center 25 and the Bills center is the oldest at 31. Its time to start looking at the future and if Strange can fill that role I'm all for it.

I feel like Godwin can be had on a good deal.

What about Osa Odighizuwa for our defensive line? 26, young, a 3rd rounder that has quietly built up some consistency at his position and can generate pressure. Dallas fans want to quietly keep him and not let him slip from their team
He is on the smallish side isn't he?

I think Andrews has earned the right to keep his job until he decides he's had enough.

That said obviously the QB needs a steady hand at Center so get Strange or whomever is the future ready.

Correct, he's 6'2 / 280lb. He seems to be good at what the Cowboys are asking him to do, as some have projected his FA value at around 3yr/110mil. After someone pointed that out, I agreed that for that price, it could be better spent elsewhere.

I would still draft one of the Top 3 ranked Centers in the Draft as both an insurance policy in case Strange doesn't work out and/or in the event of injury.

I have to disagree on he has the right to keep his job, thats the entitlement that Vrabel was speaking of. If he goes out a beats Strange then fine I support it. If its clear Strange is the better option then Strange should become the starter.

Top 3......What pick would we have to use on that position? I would put tackles and receivers over the center as priority. I cant imagine the top 3 ranked centers come in around round 3.

So he would've benched Tom for Garrapollo?

3/110M=36M per year . I know what you meant.

My main want is to shore up the offensive line. Pay a guy like Cam Robinson or Jonah Williams if they hit the market, or either of the two Ravens tackles if they make it to free agency. Draft Will Campbell or Kelvin Banks (whether you trade back or not), and then you theoretically have two starting tackles. That allows Mike Onwenu to kick back inside and hopefully regain his prior form at RG and leave him there. If Andrews is coming back, let him battle it out with Strange at center and then dig through the trash on the roster and pick a LG.

At receiver, they really need to find a #1 guy. The easiest thing to do would be to pay for Higgins if he hits the market, but if the Bengals do surprise everyone, then we would need to switch to plan B, which would be a trade. Offer up a third for DK Metcalf? He signed an extension 3 years ago, but his role seemed to be somewhat diminished this season, and honestly, he seems like a guy who could use a change of scenery. Garrett Wilson would be a home run, but I think it is a complete long shot. Wilson has made some comments over the last year that make it seem like he isn't thrilled to be there, and the Jets already have some young guys that will need deals. I assume a first-round pick would be the starting point, and we would likely have to pay a premium on top of it considering it's the Jets. Wilson almost isn't even worth mentioning due to how minimal the chances of it happening are. Deebo and Kupp are two guys that you could probably trade a mid-round pick for, but I wouldn't be as thrilled with them considering how many games they have missed recently.

On defense, I would try and bring in a few high-to mid-level free agents from the Lions to help jumpstart what Williams will be looking to do. Derrick Barnes at LB looked like he was set to be a key piece on that defense before hurting his knee. If the Lions don't retain him, I would hope we bring in a guy who knows the system at a position of need. Carlton Davis was a solid starting corner in Detroit who, depending on his market, would make a nice tandem with Gonzo on the outside. DE John Cominsky, edge defender, Al-Quadin Muhammad, and LB Ben Niemann would be cheap veteran options from Detroit that could compete for roles on defense. It is just hard to know who Detroit will re-sign with all the injuries they had last year and all the turnover on the coaching staff.
