Were you rooting for another Atlanta meltdown on Sunday Night?

I'm sure many of us were watching Sunday Night Football. For those of you who weren't, though, the Atlanta Falcons found themselves in a similar situation to the Super Bowl. The Falcons were up by 24 (34-10) late in the third quarter but allowed the Packers to get a score and capture momentum. For those of you watching, I'm curious to know...............

......Were you rooting for the Falcons to collapse again and suffer another humiliating defeat (similar to the Super Bowl)?

Or were you rooting for them to win?


From my standpoint, I was rooting for the Falcons to lock down the game, and this is coming from someone who likes the Packers. Yes, the Packers are my NFC team and I wanted them to win going into the game, but given the circumstances I didn't want them to complete the comeback. Even though this game (regardless of outcome) would be a small blip in NFL history, I still thought that ANOTHER blown collapse (making it 2 in the Falcons' last 3 games) would in some way (even if miniscule) would diminish the Patriots' feat. Not that it should matter, but it would give more weight to the Falcon's imploding as opposed to the Patriots being playmakers (even though it was both). Were others thinking like me?

It crossed my mind....then I thought how great it would be if Rodgers tried a comeback and failed miserably. Shows the difference between 1st and 2nd tier qbs.

I don't have any reason to dislike the Falcons enough to wish they blew another massive lead. If anything, Green Bay is the team I dislike, due to how many denialist Brady-hating "football fans" have started pushing the absurd narrative that "Rodgers > Brady!!1" after SB 51. It's like they needed a new QB to ballwash & prop up after Peyton retired. Regardless, the Packers along with the Giants are the 2 NFC teams I dislike most.

I didn't care at all about the game. However, if I were going to care about a game between the Falcons and Packers, why would I be cheering for an epic Packers comeback victory?

Falcons are gonna be tougher to beat next time. IF they are healthy. Tevin Coleman is healthy and they got CB Desmond Trufant back. Dangerous team, wasn't shocked they beat the Packers.

He’s come back from a one-point deficit in the fourth quarter twice in his career against teams with winning records, but never has he overcome a deficit larger than that. Those wins came two years ago against the Cowboys in the playoffs, and last season against the Seahawks.

Too early in the season to label the Falcons a winning team, but I'm pretty sure they will be by the end of the season.

I think he's had 10 4th quarter winning comebacks, so 8 of them must have happened when the were leading in the 4th quarter

Regardless Rodgers is a great QB (for 3 quarters at least).

I keep seeing the most laughable excuse for it. Something along the lines of:

"Well that's cause Rodgers rarely enters the 4th while losing"

Do these people not understand the aforementioned statistic clearly indicates that it's happened 36 times?

I think it would be pretty cool if both the Pats and Falcons have great years and rematch in the Super Bowl, back to back years.
