I stronly disagree with the thought that we have the worst WR corps in football, especially when you take into acct the fact that the TE's are numbers 2 and 3 in targets and receptions. That's one of the reasons they decided to go out and extend them to big money pacts last summer.
Our top 4 receiving threats last season were Welker, Llyod, Gronk, and Hernandez. On top of that Danny Woodhead caught 40 balls as a RB, which I believe is the most ever in the Belichick era for that position, and a great weapon to have.
We also ran the ball more times than any other team in the league, so you'd have to take that into account as they obviously are putting more of a focus on the rush.
I'd have to say that a lot of teams would want to be in this horrible place at the skill positions, considering that we were the NFL's 3rd highest scoring offense ever, and that was with our TE tandem only being together in 5-6 games all season.
You are overreacting tremendously...
I never said the Patriots have the worst skill players in football, in fact they have really strong units at TE and RB, but without Welker they have the worst WR corps in football, and that's no overreaction it's a fact.
With free agency set to open Tuesday at 4 p.m., Patriots owner Robert Kraft talked Monday regarding wide receiver Wes Welker, telling the New York Post, “We want Wes. We really do.”
Just over 24 hours before Wes Welker officially becomes a free agent that can sign with any team, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said he hopes the receiver "remains a Patriot for life, just like Tom Brady."
I can just see the PFT headline: "Robert Kraft wishes Welker dead rather than sign with another team."
I have disdain for Welker for dropping balls in the playoffs.

You guys won't believe this: I said Wes Welker was waiting for the Patriots last offer. Received a correction: Actually their 1st offer
