Yep. The job they did remaking this team in one offseason is nothing short of amazing. If they have another offseason like this next year they should be a real contender, although that’s only the case if Maye continues to develop into a franchise QB, but I fully expect that to happen with MacDaniels coaching him up.

I’ll admit, I was initially opposed to bringing MacDaniels back, because I didn’t want them changing systems on Maye, but I think I was wrong. I still don’t like the system change, but you couldn’t have a better person to teach him how to play QB in the NFL. MacDaniels is the one guy who can lighten Maye on every single thing Tom Brady did to become the best quarterback in NFL history. How to train, how to practice, how to read defenses and defensive reactions on the fly, and how to study opposing film. If Maye is dedicated to becoming great, MacDaniels is the best coach to get him there.

Well said Huck. I for one was over the moon when they brought MacDaniels back. Might not be a good head coach. But he sure is a good OC.

We stockpiled some depth on defense. Now we can rotate in a couple of youngsters in Farmer and Swinson to keep the veterans fresh. There will be a learning curve, but I feel we got good value getting these two guys in the 4th and 5th rounds.

Depth on the Dline is a redundant statement. We are in a time when playing 50% of the defensive snaps is a Full-time job. The days of playing 90% of the DL snaps is OVER. If you don't have 7 guys who are ready to play significant snaps, then you don't have a DL.

So when TC comes around, don't be looking just at Williams, Baremore, White and Landry, because even if those guys have career seasons (and that's a big IF), if the DL wants to be great, then at least 3 of the backups will have to excel on a regular basis.
