Yep. The job they did remaking this team in one offseason is nothing short of amazing. If they have another offseason like this next year they should be a real contender, although that’s only the case if Maye continues to develop into a franchise QB, but I fully expect that to happen with MacDaniels coaching him up.
I’ll admit, I was initially opposed to bringing MacDaniels back, because I didn’t want them changing systems on Maye, but I think I was wrong. I still don’t like the system change, but you couldn’t have a better person to teach him how to play QB in the NFL. MacDaniels is the one guy who can lighten Maye on every single thing Tom Brady did to become the best quarterback in NFL history. How to train, how to practice, how to read defenses and defensive reactions on the fly, and how to study opposing film. If Maye is dedicated to becoming great, MacDaniels is the best coach to get him there.
