Week One Television Coverage, Patriots at Bills
By: John Morgan

There will be no television live broadcast coverage outside of New England and western New York of next Sunday's game; just the eight stations in New England and seven...

It's a free week of Sunday Ticket, though, for all direct TV subscribers!

I got DirectTV just so I could watch the Patriots play.

I live in a complex that doesn't allow Directv dishes, so I'm forced to pay for the mobile version of the Sunday Ticket.

Strangely enough, it comes in great on my iphone, but loses some of the gusto on the imac or ipad...from what I understand they claim that their "mobile package" is specifically designed for smaller screens, so I'm going to try the A/V compositie cables from the Apple store in regards to attempting to watch it on the bigger screen.

Let's hope it works, b/c I pay for the Directv all year 'round just for the games in the fall! It gets kind of expensive, particularly since I also have to pay for additional cable and internet and only use the Directv for the games

Ooooohhh, I am going to try it. Have resisted getting NFL ticket because I am usually at the Pats' home games so I would only be watching for 8 weeks. Anyone else have this issue and think it's worth it anyway?

If you're close enough to attend all of the home games, then aren't you also able to receive the 8 away games just from regular TV alone, Deb?

Yea - I am glad that I have the Sunday Ticket. In Iowa, they get the privilege of watching the Chiefs and the Jaguars. Have fun Iowa....

FYI...from 506sports.com:

506 Sports @506sports It's official: week 1 maps will be sometime tomorrow (9/4) afternoon. See you then.

BTW, how soon after the game are the NFL Replay games available? I understand that you can have access to game films, games for several years as well the most recent games, all for $30 or $40 for one team and $70 for all of them.

Also, my understanding is that it is illegal for condos to ban dishes. There have been several court cases on the matter.

sadly ill be on a plane for the duration of the game

Yes, but I am a big enough NFL fan to want to watch other games, and sometimes I don't like the match-up that's being shown locally. I will always watch the Pats, but am wondering if it's worth it for the other games.

If you get CTV (Candian Television Network) Atlantic region, they show all Patriots games. I've had to resort to this because in Toronto, we get the Bills shoved down our throats.
only problem is the games are not in HD.

No one here bought madden 25?

Not all copies included the NFL Sunday Ticket bundled with it for $100. That's only available on Amazon.com.

Looks like my week One "super chili nachos" will have to wait til Thursday night. I'm off to the bahhhh to watch.

I'll preface this with an apology - I'm not trying to derail the thread but I posted this in the Pats Nation section and didn't get any replies. I would have started a separate thread but I don't have enough posts for the main forum.

Couple of questions for any San Diego area Pats fans -

1) Are there any Pats/Boston bars you can recommend in San Diego?
2) Will they be open at 10am on Sunday?
3) If not has anyone heard of Bite of Boston? They are having a "Brunch with the Patriots" this Sunday that is BYOB.

Any help is appreciated. I've never been to SD and haven't had a lot of luck searching online. The places mentioned on the ESPN Boston page seem to all have closed. And I'm not sure about the local blue laws regarding drinking for 10am games.

Thanks

Because the US Open is on later in the day we have the very rare occurrence of another game being on while the Pats are on. With the choice of NO v. Atlanta available, we get NYJ v. Tampa instead. Ugh. Yeah, there may be displaced NY people scattered through NE but NO V. Atl would generate much better ratings just the same - besides being a genuinely interesting game. The Jets game is sure to be awful.

I'm up in Los Angeles, so not a local or anything, but I've heard that Dave's Tavern in Pacific Beach is the best Pats bar in San Diego. I enjoyed it there; haven't been to any others though, so I can't really compare.

Thanks FTW. Any insight into the whole catching games at 10am? Do bars open that early for games in LA? And if they do can you get a beer? Here in NYC most don't start serving until noon at the earliest on Sundays.
