I just looked at the replay. Gordon didn't get any higher than about 6 inches off the ground at most. It was actually a bit bizarre. He's doubled and he just saunters right between the two DBs and catches it. Maybe they were so focussed on the ball they lost track of where Gordon was?

He found the ball. They didn’t. Really simple to say and pretty hard to do at NFL speed against a double team.

Pats second TD scored by Michel...braindead Son-Of-Hochuli misses the call...BB doesn't challenge...next play, Brady sneaks...clearly in. Braindead Hochuli refuses to to call a TD until Brady takes an additional half dozen vicious hits. Braindead Hochuli is worse than his braindead father, if such a thing is possible.
I’m going to keep any nitpicking to one specific area, since we scored 38 points, looked good in doing so, and I can’t imagine too many gripes aside from some lapses in pass coverage, but why do we seem to have issues in relaying the replay messages?

It seems like we are having issues seeing and challenging the calls in an effective time period, and have been for at least several years now. It just seems kind of odd that there’s a guy like Ernie Adams sitting up in the box with a direct channel to Bill Belichick and we somehow seem to be behind the other 31 teams. Just an observation.

The Colts are bad with a full roster. The team they put out there tonight was simply awful at nearly every position but QB, and they moved the ball at will in the 2nd half. McCourty is a bad football player at this point in his career, and they need to get him off the field.

The village idiot has returned.

I still have not seen a single angle of when Michel stretched into the end zone that proves if he wasnt already down at this point. The "from above" angle didn't reveal anything about that aspect to me and that's the only thing we (and the coaches got) in those few seconds between snaps.

If not for the field position (i.e. sneak distance) the decision might be different and they wait for another look or just challenge it.

he scored...sick of these boobs that get on the field because daddy was a bigger boob

Hard to believe people argue with me about how bad D McCourty and Hightower are. The Colts played with nobody, and went up and down the field in the 2nd half targeting this $20 million combo.

Yeah, that is extremely hard to believe that fans of a team disagree with someone who clearly isn't - you should probably go someplace where more people believe you.

I think he scored and if I remember correctly, the announcers didn’t hesitate in giving their opinions, too. I’m pretty sure that all eyes were on Belichick waiting for him to throw the flag.

Even if you don’t agree and believe that this angle was inconclusive, there seem to be plenty of others that were more definitive which occurred over the past five or so years. I remember being at the 2011 Steelers game when Gronk got in with about 3-4 mins left but Belichick claimed that he couldn’t see it from where he was standing. What the hell is Ernie doing upstairs? I thought he was supposed to be all over this stuff? Perhaps I’m wrong in his job assignments.

what the **** is the matter with these Colts players? moron grabs a lucky INT off a ball that hits Hogans hands and the idiot immediately runs to the EZ with his moronic teammates to do a "snapshot"? WHY do these idiots even PLAY this game? Anybody can do this moronic shyt on Youtube for krissakes...this league has jumped the shark

You can only give information on what you can see on replay. It is not like the people up in the booth have additional replays immediately available. They might be able to go through the network feed frame-by-frame but if the additional camera angles are not there then you can't do ****.

I don't care much what the announcers said because we had no shot that shows his knee being up. Nobody on the staff fell asleep as you could see them clearly talking to each other between snaps but there was a lack of clear evidence.

On both TDs he just got out-leveraged. Would love to hear from @AndyJohnson, @maineman209 or someone else how he was supposed to play that. Those had not much to do with his speed imo.

Something for the rewatch thread.

I don't think DMac played his coverage poorly at all. But he looked like he's lost some of his make-up speed, and it's not the first time this season I've felt that way.

What have many said before round here - McCourty the Elder plays best facing the play, but the past couple weeks he's been in much more man and trail situations (man is also what many round here beg for schematically BTW) especially against TEs (the "Chung role") which plays more to his weaknesses than his strengths.

Not saying his play has been good, it's been inconsistent actually (good in the run support, poor in pass coverage), but the latter will be targeted moving forward because its pretty evident.

Making some GIFs for the rewatch thread from the boardcast copy right now. Lets take it there.

I get that Belichick is going to be more conservative in his decision to throw the flag, but I think that there have been multiple instances in just about every season lately where they’ve been behind, either lagging in the moment or even forgoing the challenge, altogether.

Again, it just seems to be a bit ironic because Pink Stripes is supposed to be all over this stuff, and yet not only do we not seem to have an improvement over other teams, but it almost seems to be a weakness at times. I think there have been many conversations over the years about this very subject. I guess you have to take the conservative nature into account.

If his broadcasting is anything like his Tide Pods commercial...ummm...no thanks.
Haven’t you heard? He’s going to be a bona fide movie star like The Rock. It’s like he’s making love to the camera out there.

It was dumb to allow those stupid group celebrations in the first place. I understood the individual ones, but changing it to allow groups and the ability to use the ball as a prop were bad moves. It’s made it silly at times.

I don't think this is about being conservative but about playing the odds. If you have a clear shot and you know it then you challenge every time. If you don't have that do you want a) risk losing a TO + challenge that "early" in the game and b) give the opponents defense some rest while the refs are trying to figure it out when you are in sneak distance with Tom ****ing Brady on the field.

I get your point that it often seems like they are slow to react but they can only react to the things they are shown on replay. Again, there is a shot of BB talking on the headset right afterwards and you can clearly see that it was a decision not to challenge and not something that flew over their head.

I take it you're smelling what the Gronk is cooking'?
I’m smelling some bit roles here and there.
