See if Taylor can run all over KC.Colts can still get in if PIT-BAL ends in a tie and the Raiders win tonight. They would play KC next week if it happens.
both eliminatedCan't root for ravens what happens if they tie who gets in
How would the Pats losing help the Colts? I'm confused by that one. Can't see the relevance unless it's some sort of weird strength of schedule thing.
That doesn't help the Colts does it?Steelers and Ravens both eliminated if they tie... that's messed up haha
Edit: scratch that - still don't know how it would help.I'm actually confused by it too. The #1 tiebreaker for a wild card spot is head-to-head, and the Ravens beat the Colts this year, so there should be no conceivable way that the Colts pass the Ravens for a wild card spot if their records are equal. I think the ESPN tool is full of ****.
This was what I have been rooting forScrew it. Give me a tie. That would be funny. Or a Ben pick 6 to end his career.
I was actually just reading that too, so head-to-head direct goes out the window since you'd have the Colts, Ravens and Chargers all tied at 9-8 for the last spot... I don't think the Colts and Chargers played one another this year so it'd go down to conference record, which the Colts would take. So then it makes sense. However, what's still confusing me is why a Patriots loss is the catalyst for that.I think this may have something to do with it. Just had my 1st drink in weeks, so the hamsters in my brain are just not quite processing it:
Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after a third club or other clubs are eliminated, the tiebreaker reverts to step 1 of the applicable two-club format.)
- Apply the division tiebreaker to eliminate all but the highest-ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tiebreaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two wild card participants.
- Head-to-head sweep (applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others)
- Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference
