NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 17: NFL Other Games

What type of math or logic are you working with? 3 weeks in-between games? Not unless KC and Philly rest their starters which would be foolish since they need to win week 17 for the 1 seed.

SUN JAN 8th - all teams have the week off, except for BUFF-CIN
SUN JAN 15th - week 17 everyone plays their games
SUN JAN 22nd - first round of playoffs, KC and Philly would have a BYE if they're the 1 seed
SUN JAN 29th - the 1 seeds play their matchup

I'm not sure what you are advocating here. When you said "push everything back one week," I assumed you meant push Super Wild Card weekend so that those games are now played on the weekend of January 20. The NFL isn't changing this weekend's slate of games, so your proposal is out of the question.

Sun January 8 - every team plays as usual

Sun January 15 - every team has a bye except Buf-Cinc, who will finish their week 17 game

Weekend January 21 - Super Wild card round

Weekend January 28 - Divisional round

Weekend Feb 4 - Conference championship round

February 12 - Super Bowl

If this is the scenario, then yes, if Philly and KC play their starters this weekend and end up the 1 seeds, they won't play again until January 28 weekend, which is 3 weeks.

Seems like there's a lot of talk about the Commissioner canceling the game so it seems like they're gonna do it anyway.
Play the Bills Vs Bengals.

Eliminate the pro bowl. Hold an awards night honoring the folks voted in. Prizes for most colorful suit of clothes. Best hairdo.

NFL is hoping the Chiefs win this weekend as a loss to the Raiders would really fuk things up.

The easiest thing would be to have the game go in as a Bills loss and move on. The second easiest thing would be to cancel the week before Super Bowl week. Introducing an 8th team and/or taking away the bye from the #1 seed is moronic.

How is it easier to assign a loss to a team that didn't play a full game? How is it easier to cancel a week's activities?

Neither is the easiest option, given that the situation might resolve itself with this weekend's games.

Easy. They were down 7-3 at the time of the stoppage, made the active choice not to resume the game, and they made the active choice to leave town. To put it more succinctly, you just make the number in the Bills’ loss column “4” instead of “3,” and the number in the Bengals’ win column “12” instead of “11.”

Actually, the easiest option was to continue the game. Since they didn’t do that, the next easiest option is to call it a 7-3 loss. That seems easier than revoking the biggest privilege a #1 seed has, and adding another team into the postseason mix.

Apparently Timmy is the biggest priority for LV Raiders...

Ain't happening. His kids are on the east coast. Miami is back in the picture. Tua's career might be over.
Also the Jete needs a QB.
Fun times

Sounds good. Let's move forward, NFL.

I wonder where that nuetral site will be? I'm guessing Indy, Detroit, New Orleans...somewhere where there is a dome.

I love this, KC has to play on the road against BUF/CIN. Probably an NFC stadium.

Joe Burrow said Bengals players didn't want to continue the game either. Anyway, it's resolved.

Gotta agree with Mac here. While it’s not fair for the Bills, unfortunately for them it’s something that happened to them. It had nothing to do with the Chiefs.
They have to realize what they do right now will set precedence for something like this when it happens in the future. If the Bills get the 2nd seed it isn’t the end of world.

F uck That Sh!t.

F uck ALL That Sh!t.

Every F ucking Word.

And F uck the KC Queefs too, Especially their filthy maggot QB.

And ESPECIALLY F uck the suits & skirts at Park Avenue. ALL of them.

Honestly, changing the playoffs due to this game not being played is stupid.

If KC finishes 14-3 and Buffalo finishes 13-3, then KC should get the bye and home field advantage in accordance with the rules. Does it suck for Buffalo? Sure. But so would having your staring QB knocked out with a concussion in the 1Q, and your backup coming in and throwing 5 ints.

No one would be calling for playoff changes in that case. It just how the NFL goes.

Wrong.

Completely F ucking Wrong.

Your definition of easy is the problem here. The notion that it's easy to assign a loss to a team that was close in a game that was nowhere near over, and has nothing approaching such a regulation, is not a notion held by any of the other major U.S. sports, and for good reason. Even baseball, the one sport that allows for shortened games, requires a significant chunk of the game to have been played, with the trailing team having gotten equal opportunity.
