We could not afford the franchise tag without restructuring countless players and totally screwing up our salary structure. What do you do if he doesnt sign but holds out until the last potential moment ? You still gotta have enough space allocated.

The only things that matter in the NFL is (A) your coach & (B) your QB. It would have been worth scrapping the roster to secure the next 10 years at QB. Besides, BB can always find guys like Bulkhead & Van Noy on the cheap to fill out the roster.

While I fear the 2nd round pick from the JG trade to be the next Jordan Richards or Tavon Wilson, I don't think the 49ers would mind even if it became the next Drew Brees. JG is a player.

Getting really freaking sick of football with this crap constantly happening. I have no dog in the fight for this game and it’s always nice to see an AFC team lose, but how many games have ended on these lame rules this year!?
