I wonder what the under is for the game. It has to be a record.
Read somewhere it was 30.5 I don't remember the last time an O/U was that low. Maybe there was but I didn't notice.

Sorry. I am tired of losing. The AFC is so weak. These other teams are putrid and the Pats can't even score. Can't handle losing to ****tsburgh on national TV. Let's pay the doctor and get Pop cleared to play please!
It isn't so much the losing to me. The Pats did enough winning to satisfy any fan, including me. It's the way they're losing that bothers me. They're embarrassingly bad.

The funny thing about Pissburgh is that there's a cook at a diner I go to and he's been a ****tsburgh fan forever, is all excited about the game and has been talking, what else, **** about it for the whole season. He doesn't realize that no matter how the game comes out I can give him grief about it. He doesn't have the "we own you" comeback that we have.

It's been dropping all week. 31 or 30.5
Take the under!
It sure seems like the way to go, but then you always have to worry about the NYFL fixing the game. If there's too much money on the under I'd be worried that Goody+32 would let the refs know that they needed to go all out with the flags on each team's defense.

2-0 . Either Zappe, Mac, Malik, the ghost of Elvis, or whomever is at QB gets sacked for a safety. We haven't seen the PATS lose that way yet this year have we?
The best way to follow up a game where your offense doesn't score and you lose is for your offense to give the other team two points and you lose.

Local tv should flex this game out for the Bruins game.
Or Julia Childs, since the Pats are cooked.

He even short changed Brady for years. it's just Brady was a generational player. And yet somehow Bill didn't see it at the end.
Surprised it took four pages to get this particular kind of butthurt to show up yet again.

Can I be the first in this thread to say this team would be far better with Cam Newton behind center?

Bring back Cam!

I can't believe that I voluntarily agreed to go to an office christmas party during the game tomorrow night in which tv sets will not be available. This is what it has come to!

PS: I am still excited about next year. I don't think things are as bad as they seem right now.
2-10 is 2-10. Things are absolutely as bad as they seem.

BB would never tank and the entire roster wouldn’t let him either. People that talk about tanking have never played a sport or done anything competitive. Playing for anything but winning is the most soul crushing thing you could ever do. We would lose every veteran FA on the roster.

I just had a conversation with our oldest son, a HS football player 25 years ago as well as a Pats fan, and I said the same thing as you do here. He didn't think Bill would ever do that. I'm still not sure though. It seems like having an offense as bad as this is hard to do if you aren't trying.
It would be hard to screw up a QB situation as bad as they have done this year. But, if that's the truth - then the tank was on last year. Because the way BB handled Mac and Zappe was pitiful. So, the other reality might be that BB has allowed his ego and inflexibility to surpass his ability to coach a modern team (that actually needs a QB). And he hasn't caught up to the fact that no other QB will respond, perform, act like Brady.

Players don't tank. If a player was to ease up on the field he'd get crushed like a bug. Players play to win. But when a GM decides to dump every top player and has no backups for them it looks suspicious.

The best examples of tanking comes from Irsay's Indiots. In 2009 they didn't want the Steelers to make the playoffs so they tanked by pulling PEDton and other starters and got the Jets in instead. Bill Polian used the Pats failure to get to 19-0 two years earlier as his phony excuse. I can still see the shocked look on PEDton and Jeff Saturday's faces when they were pulled.

And then they had the Suck for Luck campaign, which resembles more of what's going on with the Pats now. That was the year they played Curtis Painter until they had the top pick clinched.

Who runs the ball? Elliot ain't getting 30 carries. I thought this team had 4 or 5 rbs. Now down to 1??

Lmao it’s like the half-life of Patriots losing football. The other team scores less and less every week and the Pats continue to lose. The next week it’ll be NE losing due to a safety being the only points in the game. The week after that it’ll be the NFL’s first 0-0 tie which will break the curse and they’ll accidentally win a game the following week by scoring points.
I liked your post and agree, but had to look up if there were other 0-0 ties:

There have been 73 games in pro football history that ended in a 0-0 tie, according to Pro Football Reference. But it's been nearly 80 years since the last one, meaning there's yet to be a scoreless tie in the Super Bowl era.

When was the last 0-0 tie in the NFL?

The most recent 0-0 tie came on Nov. 7, 1943, in a game played between the New York Giants and Detroit Lions. The two teams combined for nine first downs and 214 yards at Briggs Stadium in Detroit. The game featured 77 running plays and 16 pass attempts.

There was no overtime played, as the NFL wouldn't add the extra period for another three decades.

Well they broke a record that hadn't been seen since 1938 last week so why not go for something that hasn't been seen since 1943 this week? We're on a roll baby

“Please hit and get hit at the line of scrimmage 70 times at the speed and impact of a car crash while we throw the game to get a higher first round draft pick“ said no one ever. Ok, maybe Clown Polian.

IMO, "tanking" is not having the players on the team try to lose.'

Rather it is about keeping good player inactive or off the field. We are sitting Rham. We could sit Douglass more. We might sit Brown more, or perhaps Onwenu, Sokol might be given reps with Henry or Gesicki inactive.
