I'm not defending Fauria's immaturity, I just question the Globe taking a directly activist role against another media entity's financial lifeline.
Doesn't bother me. The sponsors are what enables the ass clown show to go on and on, and makes them feel so empowered. If the sponsors have no problem with what the ass clowns do then they should just say so and move on. Her articles list plenty that are still on board with them. I'm sure if the ass clowns had some dirt on her they would have no problem using it to go after Globe sponsors. Given what shape the print media is in these days I don't think it's an unfair fight.

Why wouldn't it be?

Because when you mock somebody, you are insulting them. I did not realize that insulting people was ok. I certainly am not going to want to cooperate with somebody who is insulting me, maybe I would instead have a word with how they are behaving. I don't tolerate it from my kids and I wouldn't tolerate it in the work place.

Where do you infer I am taking offense? All I did was make a societal observation. If you weren’t such a snowflake you may have realized that.
You must be offended if you are calling me names

LOL!! You can drop the faux sanctimonious outrage. You spend your life mocking and belittling anyone with different belief structures than yourself. You routinely try to ridicule others of good faith with whom you disagree.

I guess that's cool in your world, huh?

I disagree that you act in good faith. More like somebody who enjoys riling people up.

That particular individual, a leading member of the perpetually offended industrial complex, seems to have a vendetta against WEEI.

But, as you mention, she represents a dying industry. I can’t remember the last time I bought a newspaper and while I read news articles from newspaper websites, they get no more credence than any other idiot on teh interwebz.

Not necessarily. People bust balls. People bust balls on the basis of race, color, religion, and other issues. Comedians are extraordinary at this and some of the best comedy in the world comes from jokes or cracks about those very subjects. If you have male friends, you should know this. That’s what it seemed as if Fauria was doing. But Fauria isn’t funny so the joke wasn’t funny, at least IMO. But people are so uptight nowadays that of course they were offended.

If you’re going to take that stance, then this isn’t okay either am I right?

It used to be the ultra conservative who wanted to censor the "immoral", and now it's the other side wanting to censor the "offensive"

It was pathetic then, and it's pathetic now. Plenty of people like K&C apparent by their ratings. Just as people like gangster rap, gay porn, anti-religious art and all sorts of "offensive" forms of entertainment. If you don't like it, don't listen or watch it! How f'n hard is that?

And the Boston Globe better be careful about throwing stones from its crumbling ivory tower. They are being exposed for quite a history of sexual harassment against young interns, and hiding it ala Catholic Church. I'm wondering how their advertisers will feel about it.

No, I'm not offended by people offended or whatever the cute reverse snowflake talking point is. Offended people on both sides are raging ****sies.

I hear and read name calling that men like me are snowflakes. Well if that's the case, get ready ladies and gentlemen. A blizzard's comin'.

People like you not just a part of the problem. You ARE the problem.

And those people would be absolutely right to do so. Now, hopefully the mods will kill this thread before it breeds.

You called this one. Only took about 4 pages or so.

Look who you are speaking with..

Context matters.

The Globe has been arrogant for years now. I guess 2009ish is when this all sort of started.

Reiss left, went to another devil and then Felger/Mazz got hired for 98.5 as a partner to the Globe

The Herald's sports coverage during this time was far superior, save for Tomase and Borges as the main "columnists".

I haven't read a CHB article or looked at one in over 10 years.

Context matters.

That’s just an easy way of saying “because he was making fun of white people, it doesn’t ruffle my feathers.”

Same thing in either case. Both were “mocking” people (your word) based on one of the above listed aspects in my last post. Snoop was “mocking” all white people while Fauria was “mocking” just Yee. In one case, it’s funny. In the other, it isn’t. But that’s not because he was “mocking” an ethnicity. It’s because Fauria largely isn’t funny and the impression was a poor one. But both are fine to break balls on. They’re aspects of people just like weight, looks, etc. So yeah, sorry. The “context matters” argument doesn’t work with that one. Especially when Snoop has 21.5 million Instagram followers that he was posting that to. How many people listen to WEEI?

Sensitivity training is a mitigation plan against a future wrongful termination lawsuit. This is how HR departments work. WEEI is milking the PR aspect of it, however.
