We haven't heard nothing about Layden Robinson or Siddy Sow Sow this TC. They're really playing their ways to our PS.
Sow has been injured, which is concerning, hopefully he gets a lot of work from now until preseason ends because without him the bench depth suffers.

He was literally the starting left guard for the first two weeks when Wilson started moving in… were you hibernating?
So you're hanging your hat on the first 5 days of camp for Strange? He hasn't ran with the ones in almost a month and is barely hanging in there with the twos. We all know why you're hanging onto the hope he will turn out to be anything other than a bust but the writing is on the wall.

We can use him this one year to backup all three Interior Spots. That will help us to get creative with other positions.

Agreed. At his peak he was an average player and now after a major injury he seems to be falling down the depth chart. At least when he gets cut the other half of the board will finally admit he was a JAG ala Sony Michel.
A 2 year starter in the NFL is not a JAG. Strange was never great, but that does not make him a JAG.

Cole Strange got more work in on Monday behind Mike Onwenu at right guard, which has been the case in recent practices. Perhaps the goal is to see if he can handle the versatility on both sides, possibly giving him an opportunity as Vrabel and the coaching staff continue trying to figure out thier depth chart. … Caedan Wallace seems to have locked in the backup spot behind rookie Jared Wilson, who has stepped into Strange’s spot at left guard and continues to hold it down after being elevated into the top spot in recent weeks.
Thanks. Wallace has always been on the right, and Strange on the left. Now they are best suited to flip sides? Seems odd. There might be more involved than meets the eye.

You said he wasn’t running with the 1’s and 2’s… he had exclusively been doing so. Again… stop lying.

We’re debating agenda driven people who are more concerned with slamming Bill’s (the collaborations) prior draft picks than objectively looking at this team in 2025.

These aren’t serious people….

Why is Garrett Bradbury sucking so bad? Is mediocrity Ben Brown better? And the strange case of Mr 69 is a mystery to me. Whither are you going, Coke Strange?

it's nothing like last year. stop changing the subject
Strange is not good enough/healthy enough.
his contract, which is 100% guaranteed has zero to with his performance on the field

What was Strange saying? I missed it
Me too

I suspect Strange might not be fully ready to go and expect he will be back starting at LG sometime in September.
I think he's ready to go he just might not be the same as he once was and that was only so good to begin with.

I'd like to think he's still better than Brown and I'm pretty sure he's better than Wallace (I don't think Wallace looks good at guard). I'd like to think they see Strange as the top back up and that they are giving him work at backup LG, C, and RG is a sign they want him ready to back up all 3. But I fully recognize it could be the last attempt at salvaging him.

If Brown and Wallace are better he's gone.

I think the Patriots are trying to build their program up from ground zero. Strange isn’t one of “their guys,” he was from the previous regime. More importantly he is in a contract year, coming off a serious knee injury and if Vrabel’s history in Tennessee proves anything he likes massive offensive linemen.

Jared Wilson is massive for a center, big for a guard, bigger than Strange, cheaper than Strange for the next 4 years on a cost controlled contract.

Spending on a guard now when you don’t have to isn’t smart, especially if Sow is healthy and can step in there tomorrow. The Pats cap for next year is swelling. You can find guards, they’re out there.

Strange will want to start, and Vrabel has been adamant about wanting players who want to be here. Pretty simple….

All of that sounds pretty logical my counter to it would be that we can't afford not to take the best players. Sow isn't that yet and even with Strange expensive for a backup we might just Have to suck it because we just don't have enough talent.

I'm surprised that Brown seems to be ahead of him and I am surprised to see Wallace at guard and it might add up to Strange getting cut but I'm not writing Strange off yet mostly because we barely have enough starters and I am not comfortable with any of our depth yet.

I agree some, if Wilson didn’t emerge as a stud so early we wouldn’t even be having this conversation. But he did…

Sow like Strange has started a full season, there’s tape on him. Plus he was there early in camp and apparently is back now. He also is massive and fits Vrabel’s mold. I hope he is healthy. Should something happen to Bradbury, sliding Wilson back to center and inserting Sow gives them their biggest most athletic lineup.

I don’t see Brown having passed anyone, when he was in at center on the 2nd unit Strange was at guard, there has been constant rotation by everyone to gauge who has the most position flexibility.

For whatever reason (not fair to him) I tend to underrate Sow and I haven't really watched him much this camp. I guess I hold last year against him more than I give him credit for the previous year. I'm probably not fair to him.

He ran with the ones for under a week and by most reports has been passed out by Ben Brown at backup center and losing reps at backup LG to Wallace. Keep up.

I will never understand the "he started games so he can't be a JAG" argument. There are plenty of players on every single team every single year who start games for teams who are JAGs. Strange started (and was drafted) in 2022 because Bill bungled the guard position and had to fill a hole he created. Then the next year Bill took 3 IOL in the middle of the draft which wasn't exactly a vote of confidence in Strange.

I don’t think Strange was a bad player. I think he was thoroughly average. He struggled against good defensive linemen and held his own against average ones. He certainly wasn't worthy of a first round pick because he was just a guy. Now he is just a guy coming off a major injury which barely even makes him roster worthy.
